I'm looking around for another smoke to try and I stumbled on C-bid selling Graycliffs. Anybody care to tell me if they're worth the price? I understand that Avelino Lara, the guy that makes Cohibas has/had a hand in it. Perelman's says "they're rich and satisfying"

Just like everything else, its a matter of taste. I had one a couple of weeks ago and it didn't do much for me. However, I'm sure that there are many here on the forum that love this cigar.

I don't think they are. I'll go with a CAO Brazilia, Buc, or AF anytime over that overpriced smoke. But..thats just what I think 🙂

I don't think there is a cigar made that's "worth" the $15 to $20 per stick that Grays are commanding (Red or Blue Label?)

My favorite domestics are PAMs, Serie 1964 Torps - these are some of the finest smokes made today and I'll include most of the offerings from Habana in that statement.

Having said that - I don't think they are "worth" the $13 - $15 per stick -- that's just what having the experience of this cigar happens to cost.

But......if I were down to my last $15...... and I decided to spend it on a cigar --- and the 2 choices were PAM '64 or Grays ------the Padron WINS a No Contest decision.

Graycliff is a cigar that's long on reputation and short on taste. However,I hear tell the new release is a different story. X

I had one once on vacation. I had won big the night before. Took the wife out jewelry shopping and to dinner. Afterwards we had a cigar and brandy. I had the red labeled one. It was good, but I'd take Docrks suggestion ANYDAY!

Thanks all, I just put a bid in on 4 Graycliff robustos, looks like there is one from each label type, if all goes right (nobody outbids me), I'll be able to get them at a bit of a discount. I'm still partial to Monte #2's but always looking for new and stuff to try. I bought a Sherpa sampler a few weeks ago and that was pretty good. Price was very reasonable. I found them to be mild to moderate, I think the regular label had better flavor then the new Diablo's. Lit up a Presidente and savored it for almost 2 hours. Couple that with a homemade beer...ahh life is good!

I like the blue label a lot.But its all a matter of taste,what you like a that moment.keep trying differnt ones till you find what works for you.

I believe their reputation and the "exculsivity" of smoking a Graycliff goes a long way toward psychologically convincing you that they are an exceptional cigar. IMHO they are a GOOD cigar, but not a GREAT cigar. I have smoked many cigars that are as good or better, taste-wise, aroma-wise, and every other-wise, than Graycliff...........but, they are not a Graycliff! Just my thoughts...............
