Well I sparked that baby up Friday night. Figured I didn't need to let it rest any longer.

It was ok. It was a Bucanero.

Im sure the "BOTL who say ARRRRGH!!!!" would have LOVED it. It was quite smooth and the draw was excellent. But it still left me with the same feeling as all the other Bucs I have tried. I guess Im still just a land lubbin Boli lover.

I guess maybe Ill have to try another one.

Have a tasty little Classic Maduro Robusto with a Cosat Rican band thats been sitting in my 'dor for some time now. It's that last CR banded Buc I've got. I know it will be wonderful.

Forgive my naiveté, but I have never seen a Costa Rican Bucanero, how can one identify it!? Is it written on the stick, the box, different color, please advise me.

chuckler --- they are extremely hard to find. I've never seen one either ... but I've read here before that it does say Costa Rica on the band.

They were produced at the old Bucanero factory, one that does not exist anymore ... since they moved their production to Nicaragua.

In fact ... on closer inspection of the photo above, it does say 'Made in Costa Rica' just below Bucanero on the band ... 😉

I'd give it a 6 maybe 7 on a non ISOM scale. Good beat(dragon), but you couldn't dance to it.

Nice to know BD. This is one of the Bucs I've had resting for a while and haven't tried.
