I just receive some AVO's #5 Tubos,(box of 20), should I take them out of the tubes before putting them in my Humidors or leave them as they are..... I would like to leave them in the tubes as they are lined with cedar and very nice looking, but not sure if they will age in the metal tubes (or rust) or dry out.......any help is appreciated........SP

I usually leave all the tubos on but take off the tube caps for about 2 weeks... then replug them. This gives the cigars a chance to adjust to your humidifiers specs. Once they "rested" you can recap them and store them like that. None of the metal tubos are airtight anyway. The only airtight ones you'll find are typically in glass tubos sealed with wax.

Like grond said, let them breath to acclimate. After that, it's your choice. If you want to start building wind chimes right away, them de-tube them. If you like to take them out at night and treat them rough, then leave them in.

I've got a couple of 2 and 3 finger leather cases that I stuck the tubes in. It helps the leather keep its shape and protects the cigars a little better.

AVO's are an awesome smoke. The Petit Belicosa is my favorite AVO shape. I also very much enjoy the CAO Black line as well as Monte's #2, Por Larannaga, Mac Duke of Windsor, CAO L'Anniversaire, and La Perla Habana. Lately, I'm into Acid and Ambrosia by Drew Estate. Really exotic blends or herb/botanical/spice that are strange but truly awesome as well.

SP, you can email me at rpope123 at bellsouth dot net.

Let me know if you want to sample some and we can do a trade.

I know guys... this is the wrong board.

Take them OUT! IMO they age better if they can breathe. Tubes are great for traveling though. Make a nice gift as well.
