are bucaneros really all that? i havent heard anything about them except on this site?

I have enjoyed all of the Bucanero's that I've smoked with the exception of the Crew.

They do make a pretty good cigar.

Top they are a small company and The One Brother (Johnny) is pretty fusy about who he sits up accounts with. He has a soft spot for us Mom and Pop Shops (Thank Goodness) and likes to deal with us instead of the big stores..But they are One of the best Cigars I have Tasted in a Long time. I have to say it was well worth my wait to get an account with them , even though all I was able to hide away from my first shipment of them was a Box of Texas Stars which he sells to me for walk ins and also for Special Customers. All the other stuff pretty much sold in less than 48 hours.They are really good. And I love the Crew's as a Filler for in between the times I can stop and sit down to really enjoy a Gar during the day.

TinMan - how do the Texas Stars compare to the other lines like the Classic Maduros and the Peg legs? Are they more full bodied or medium? Haven't gotten to tty one of them and would love a little insight.

They're tough to find, from my experience.

They're between a El Capitan and a Salsa. Very good. The "newer" ones are tasty cigars. Worth a try.

Just what DR Maddvibe Said And they are a Full Bodied Cigar Loaded with Flavor and I mean Loaded..They start Off for the 1st Half to 3/4 inch. Kinda Different tasting but hang in there because after that they EXPLODE with a Flavor that Hook you. They're made well, and smoke well. Unfortunately, I've yet to be satisfied with any of them. Not enough flavor or complexity for my taste buds. They just don't interest me, especially at the high price. I may get flamed for saying so, but they are not 'all that'. 😞

No flaming, everyone is entitled to their own oppinion but...(you knew there had to be a but)...have you tried the Salsa yet? I would say it's one of there most powerful and complex lines.

For the price, yes they can be beat. But you must try one to see for yourself. I have tried them all and they didn't come close to the hype for me. But then again its hard to live up to that kind of adulation. $88.00 for 14 "good not great" smokes is well, nuts.(IMHO) But these are just my incoherent ramblings. They might turn out to be your "Valhalla" sticks.

Love them all except the Crew. Not sure why that one is so much different but I should didn't like anything about it except the size and shape. I have not stumbled across a Texas Star...are they new like the Z and Salsa?

The 'Texas Star' arrived on the scene last year, I believe ...

... mainly for distribution in Texas, of course ...

Been around longer than that Slim, but the 1st release wasn't what Bucanero had envisioned. They wanted a knockdown dragout kick butt cigar to share with Texas(especially the Houston area!)for all they had done for Bucanero. Well, this newest incarnation is the homerun they were looking for. It is exactly what I had said before...somewhere between an El Capitan and a Salsa lies the Texas Star. Same label, but when you see them side by side, old and new releases...newer one is darker and just screams Yip-ee-I-yea-M.F.'er!

I haven't had the Texas Star but will attest to the others. I really like the Z a cigar that kinda sneaks up on you and goes BAM.
