Tuesday, I thought was going to be a great smoke experience. $2 drinks...and decent cigars in the otterbox.

I began with a Buc TX Star. Tasted great, but only got about a half inch into it before it began tunnelling!!!. Dammit!!!! I cut the end off to see about relighting and noticed a visible tunnel in the filler all the way through! My first Buc!!! Don't worry, I won't give up on them.

Next, I had a fat Padron. I thought it would definitely save the night. About halfway through, it went out. I said to hell with it and didn't relight it.

Later, I tried one more time. A cheapo Cremosa Cubana. I really like these things given the price. I lit up and it tasted good...but the SOB was plugged!!!!

I put it out and went home. My life is not good enough to endure crap like this!!!!!!!

Last night I had an Astral Beso(?) Tubo Cameroon. It was a good burn, tasty flavor and consistent all the way. I smoked it to an inch. I would have never thought I'd have to rely on an Astral to save me!

That's it...I'm done blabbering.

I've heard only a few mentions of the Bucanero Texas Star. So what are they? New line? Old, discontinued line? I don't remember seeing anything about them on Bucanero's website.

The Texas Star came out in the Fall of 2002 for Texas. I had "wer" pick me up a couple a while back. Very nice smokes.

ikonoklast7 > I just had a One of many Lanog Talks with Johnny about the Bucanero Texas Star. It came out A Few Years ago But when it first hit the market niether Jonny or his brother were happy with it so they started making changes in it until they came up with the current Texas Star which has a Killer Blend and a Beautiful (Texas Looking) Maduro wrapper. It starts out tasting a little different than Cigars that you are use to then after about 3/4 of an in. it really kicks in with Flavor..This is MY take on the Cigar Now mind you I'm NOT a Professional Tester so this will be crude.. It starts off with a different taste and smell NOT Unpleasent by any means bbut Different then as you get into it the Flavor starts to explode before you are half way done with it you want more. It gives a smotth (Truely) creamy taste in your mouth (Not like those who say they are creamy and you never taste it) This one You will taste the creamy. It is a full bodied Cigar yet Not over powering it has hints of a deep Choco flavor Not one that you can really put your finger on but there is some thing there thats puts the Choco thought in your head.. All in All IMHO it is a very very very good Cigar that you want to smoke every day..These are made and marketed for the Texas Cigar Shops and are Not something that is accessable by everyone..With the Texas Star as with all Bucanero cigars you have to be on Top of your Humidor and keep the settings perfect or they will tunnel if to Moist , If keep perfect it is rare to have lighting troubles or tunneling with them.. Try this test with a Bucanero and any other Cigar. 1. Light them and puff on them a little to get them going good Oh about 3/4 in down then let them sit and go out and sit for about 25-30 Min. them Light them bothe back up and Taste the difference in the relit Cigars Mainly the Ammonia difference. Many of the Cigars mad during the Boom were not allowed to age enought to drop the Amonia Levels Bucanero try to get the Amonia Level down as Low as Possible before the Cigar goes out to the people. The longer a Cigar ages in the right conditionts the lower the Amonia Level.. SO Bucanero does that before they are put out for sale thats why they taste so much better and are alittle more expense than other Cigars. Though I don't think My self that the price is that bad for thier Cigars.. And if you ask around or look around you can find some reasonable deals on them.. IMHO.. TinMan

In case you want to know something more about the Bucanero's.. I have the MAN himself teaching me about his Cigars and so far every thing he has told me and I have tried has been right. *S*..
