I've been trying to find info on these, because I think this is the Montecristo with a maduro wrapper, but whenever I search for them on google, the picture they show doesn't look right. They show the Edicion Limitada band as just saying that, whereas mine says "2001" on the black line below the words "Edicion Limitada".

Any info? Are these the maduro ones? Either post it here or email me at

... if it says 'Edicion Limitada', then it is the Maduro. The 2001 is when it was produced, and the latter ones will say 2003 on them ...

I have had these, and they are currently my number one "I want more".

Don't think they are Maduro though.. but it has been a while since I had one.

Cuba doesn't list them as maduros. However, they have a very dark wrapper. X

Everywhere I read says the Montecristo Edicion Limitada 2001 was a double corona, whereas the one I have is clearly the robusto (around 4 1/2 x 50). It looks and feels legit, so am I just missing this info?

No you are correct, there are those 2 sizes. I have one Robusto left. Would love to buy LOTS more if I knew the source was good.

These are really good... Rec'd 3 robustos in a trade with Billy. Smoked one and am saving the other 2 for special treats for myself... Hey, why not?? I deserve it !!

I think 'X' hit it the closest ...

... the 'Limitada' family is considered as a special production, with a very specific blend. All the 'Limitadas' are made in the best Havana factories, and they are said to have an 'oscuro' wrapper taken from aging top plant tobacco leaves.
