I am interested in purchasing a few Davidoff cigars and I'm not quite sure which line to purchase from. I was thinking of the Millenium series. Any suggestions? Any input would help - thanks...

The Davidoff Millennium Blend Robusto is an ass kicking cigar and IMO the best in the line, but alas much too expensive. X

If you're considering Davidoff cigars, explore the Purofino Milenio. They are both made by Henkie Kelner in the Davidoff factory. The Purofino is an Alec Bradley brand, the company that also makes Trilogy and Occidental. The Purofino is about $5.00 a stick.

However the Milleniums are incredibly smooth.

I've had Zino (the less expensive Davidoff cigar) in the Connoisseur line.

I thought it was very nice, and like Slim said, all Davidoff-made cigars have near-flawless construction.

Me personally...I think Davidoff is way overpriced.

I was Gifted my Very First ISOM Davidoff today at the LOLH 3 By Kerry on another board... anyway it was Fantastic!!!!!! I would buy more of these.. and when I get back there tonight I've got to ask him and write it down what one it was??? for sure I know it was Lancero in length and size with a White and Gold band??

1 single 1979 Dunhill Don Knoti (sp) went for $237.00

Many others ranging from 1979-1991 and to date were bringing over $100.00 Ea.

I told ya'll about the Davidoff I smoked on another thread (Cigars and Assec.) board.. it was a Davidoff #2 1986
I purchased one more of those Davidoff #2's and a Cohiba Siglo #6 for $111.00!!!!
I also bought a few five packs... and split A box of Partagas Shorts 2001's

Great Time Had by All!!!! and met some new people from Texas, Cali,and even some locals... was also great to hook up and Herf with old friends!!!!!

1/2 the Proceeds from the Auction go to the Boy's and Girls Club... the other half goes back into costs to run it again Next Year!!!! don't miss the LOLH 4 next October!!!!

Cuban Davidoff production was discontinued in 1991. In 1993, a box of 1991 production could be purchased for about $525.00. It would be difficult to find a box today for under $1500. That was a $65 to $75.00 gift you smoked.

As you might expect, Cuban Davidoffs are frequently counterfeits. The "counterfeit" may be a well aged Habano Partagas with a bogus, but perfect Davidoff band. It's a great cigar...but a $20.00 cigar sold for $75.00.

Knowing who the Gifter was and the folks who showed up for the LOLH 3 Many from SO. Cali... this was a very Expensive Gift from a friend... who didn't bat an eye to offering me this fine Cigar!!!!

I knew spending $111.00 bucks on two fine Cigars like this was like biding on a 5 pack of Fuante's on CBid.. I got a hell of a deal... and anyone could have kept the running going!!!! besides the Half the Proceeds went to a good Cause...

I was in Davidoff's Geneva store in 1971. I remember, distinctly, that his Chateau series did not have bands. Did he later put bands on his cigars? I would welcome a definitive answer. Thanks, Tandem401.

I know this one had a Band and I later found out it was 1986 and also SteveR pointed out it was probably worth about $75.00 bucks and knowing the person who I recieved it from I would with out a doubt believe it was 75 bucks I was smoking... and that never before have I cared to venture for a Davidoff ISOM because I've smoked their Non ISOM's and did not care for them... and I was WRONG on my View!!!!! I also Purchased it's Brother while at the Herf later in the evening... because I am going to share this other with my Wife!!!!

I was just reading through this thread and thought the exact thing SteveS. Thanks for clarifying. I was sure there were no more Davidoff Cubano cigars still in production. Damned if I didn't see a bunch of them last time I was in Mexico. There was some conflict between the Davidoff name and Castro's cigar goons, so they decided to shut down Cuban operations. I know the cigar factory still exists (I have forgotten where I read it) selling the same blends under a different name.

I'm not one to go out of my way to buy Cuban cigars so I may never know. I have a few non-Cuban Davidoff's sitting in the humidor I have never touched. I don't even know what they are...just sittin there waiting for their turn.

Mexico?...The land of fakes unless you go to the LCH stores...I also know the person that Russ got this cigar from and it was undoubtedly the real deal! How many here have had a real Davidoff cuban anyways since everyone on CBid seems to be experts? 😉 ....I've never had a Davidoff Cuban yet but there is one in my humi thanks to a great friend and it will be smoked upon the birth of my first son/daughter

I've had a few of the domestic Davi Milenniums and they ARE pretty impressive cigars in construction and flavor, although I can think of numerous Cubans that I'd rather smoke for a cheaper price!

Band on or Band off?

There are several vendors still selling aged Cuban Davidoffs. Some have bands...the Cabinet selections do not. With the rarest of exceptions, Habano Cabinets of all brands are unbanded.

Cuban Davidoffs are an extraordinary cigar, but because they are at least 12 years old, it may be more due to blend + aging, rather than blend alone.
