Last year I saw a box of 10 Cuban Davidoff Dom Perignom's go for over $1500 on the Y site. They were recently rated a 96 on CA Connoissuer corner. Glad you had the opportunity to try one. X

Not to ruffle any feathers ...

... but the band on the Cohiba looks fake. It looks like the LE band, but I've always been told that there should only be to rows of white squares above the Cohiba name, never three ...

Am I mistaken?

Now I'm really confused ...

I just re-read Hog's 'Davidoff' post, where he talks about the two cigar he won for around $111.00, and he mentions that the Cohiba he got along with that Davidoff was a Siglo #6 ...

Tell me if I'm wrong .. again ... but that is not the right band for a 'non EL' Cohiba. The Siglo #6 has the black Cogiba (not shiny gold) name, and they also say La Habana, Cuba ... not just Habana, Cuba ... like it does on the EL bands.

Honestly ... I'm not trying to stir things up, just very confused here ...

Can someone here set the record straight?

Slim,

I just read an article that said that all Cohibas would be sporting a new band, and it looks just like the one in the picture!

Was that article refering to the bands on the EL's?

I have both here in my himidor ... and all I know, is the EL's are the ones with the new bands, that is why I wanted to make sure.

The band on my EL looks exactly (minus a row of white squares) the same as the one he has on his Siglo #6 ...

... maybe mine is the fake?

I just re-read your post ...

... the article said that ALL Cohiba's coming out now will sport the new band?

Interesting ...

I just find it odd that they would add that extra row of white squares (when the EL's don't have it), becasue that was one of the ways you could distinguish the fakes ...

Slim,

I agree with your assesment, confusion, confusion, confusion...but as you know the Cohiba has been revamped, includeing the label.

The "New Bands" (Inluding the Siglo VI) all come with three rows of dots and only say Habana Cuba on the label.

Got one sitting in front of me - that how Iknow 🙂

Regards,

B
