the auction bidding seems to be a lot higher now that the new folks have arived. welcome strangers. i know there has been a lot of discussion about over bidding, but is a 5 pack of partagas series 150 AA really worth $65.00 + $3.95 shipping?

I would consider myself a "new guy" here at CB but i refuse to pay some of the ridiculus prices others are putting on some of the auctions. Education is all it takes. just a little. and for us non price hikers, a little perceverence.

next we have "1 @ $1.50 for these specials leyendas and even with the shipping cost of $3.95, that's still not bad for ten cigars. i wonder if i should get 2 boxes? no one is enough for this month. i hope they are real good."

I prefer a low profile so you don't hear from me much but I watch the bidding and the posting daily. I too have noticed that the bids are getting higher. It seems that the past few months anything I would consider adding to the Humidor is overbid early on, sdo I keep on watching, (waiting).

I agree with BMW, and I haven't bought anything at auction in weeks. Bids are ridiculous when it has to do with any of the good/desireable cigars. I just wish people would look at the other catalogs they get in the mail and then decide on what is a good deal or not a good deal. $20 plus for 5 LaGloria's is an awful deal! That was just one example that came to mind, not the only horrible bid I have seen. Charlie

Well, I'm definately one of the "new folk." I've been here for about 3 months now, and yes, I'M ADDICTED! Just like the rest of you smoke-a-holics! And like E-bay, cigarbid.com is going to have your overbidders. I recently bought an "IMPERFECT" humidor for $40...ha ha ha, can't be that! The hinge is scratched a little bit, WHAT'S IMPERFECT ABOUT THAT? By the way, my humidors are starting to empty out...I need to jump back in the bids, hope people can give me a chance! Oh, Rick, THOSE LEYENDA'S BLOW! Don't waste your money! If you wanna throw money away, I'm sure there's others on here that would greatly appreciate it! Just a word of advice...GO RED SOX!

I'll admit to being new here and when my wife figures out how many cigars I have bought in the last 3 weeks, she'll find me a 12-step program. You are right on about over-bidding and I see a lot of bids way over what I can get from other e-sites, but there are a lot of bargains here. I use 8 other sites to keep myself in line. Before CB was "discovered" some of you guys must have been "stealing" these things.

This has happened to every auction site, and will happen to new ones. Eventually the prices approach, and sometimes surpass, retail. It's human behavior at work. At least we had some fun while it lasted....
