Gentlemen and lady (I know there is at least one female out there, a sawbones I read) - I thought the Palma Real I smoked about a year ago was the worst "cigar", but last night I tried the Punch Rare Corojo and had to wash my mouth out after about 4 puffs. Sawdust in a cardboard wrapper. Nearly ruined the Excalibur 1066 I had after it. What is the hype about this piece of .... cigar? Also, somebody posted something about "painting the wrapper". I take it that this is done on Maduro or Rosado or other non-natural or lighter colored wrappers. Let's name names. I'm on this CB thing basically to try new sticks. I've followed the threads about the good cigars and have made some good buys on some really good cigars like Cupido, Bauza and others. Let's hear some straight talk about the trash.

I haven't tried the Punch Rare Corojo, but the worst cigar I've ever smoked was a Punch. A Punch Punchito. It was weeks before my taste buds recovered. I now avoid Punch like the plague. Yuck!

Can you truly avoid a plague? If it's a plague, wouldn't it be all-emcompassing, and therefore nearly impossible to avoid? Speaking of Plagues, any Tamboril product should have warnings on the label about it's ability to do irreversible harm to ones tastebuds.

Gaiter is right, as all Tamboril produced cigars should carry warning labels or aged in a garbage bin to improve on the taste and aroma (stink) of their "cigars"! Of particular delight is the Cordova by Tamboril, which carried one of the very sexiest ad campaigns ever launched, but awwwwwwwwwwwwwfulllllllllll! Charlie

New worst cigar? Really? I can't believe you thought it was that bad. I can maybe see not liking it...but pretty much hating it seems harsh. I bought a box about 2 months ago and thought the cigar was great. A little young...but nothing some time in the humidor couldn't fix. I have heard mixed feelings about this cigar...either people like it or don't. But hey, that's the great thing about cigars...everyone has their own tastes and there are many different cigars to suit.

Wow, no way! I didn't think anyone could dislike a Punch. Punch and Hoyo De Monterrey's are by far my fav's. I bought two boxes of Punch's rare corojo dc's, and I smoked one as soon as I got em, and yes, they were young! You have to let them sit. A good cigar to try from punch is their rothchild. Great cigar, and it doesn't need aging. It breaks my heart to see someone not like Punch. Wow. Anyways, enough of my yapping, GO WATCH MY RED SOX KICK SOME ASS!

Young? Better will them to your great-grandchildren. Don't get me wrong national pastime dude, I love the Chateau L double maduros I have. The main fault of most of the Punch's I've tried is the uneven burn. These Corojo's are nasty.

I think they're a good cigar personally...A little aging would improve it a bit

I would use Don Thomas, Tamboril, Hoya de Nicaragua, Don Juan, Don anything, Ancla y cazador, Hamilton House and now La Luna `96 reserve as kindling in my fireplace.

Your house is gonna stink! I put the Ancla Y Cazador and the Tamboril along with the Flor del Todo around my yard to keep the cats out.

Wanyburger, I'd be happy to try to trade you out of any La Luna '96 Reservas you have left. [email protected]

I have read some good reports on the Punch Corojo on other cigar bbs. I can't wait to try a few so I can make up my own mind.

The few Bock y Ca that I've tried did not appeal to me at all.

Happy herfin',
