I smoked my first Texas Star today. Props to Cigman627(I bow in your general direction!) This cigar is similar if not identical in size, shape and color to the IT Super Fuerte Maduro Toro. And that's what it tasted like. Initially. And that was okay because I LIKE the IT/SF Maduro. But after about 2 inches, I could swear I heard the voice of Emeril Lagasse. "Let's kick it up a notch! BAM!!" Oh yeah! There's the spice! There's the pepper! And lots of it! BAM!! It just kept getting stronger and more complex. And after the halfway point,(BAM!!)it developed a richness that Buc's Nic. contemporaries don't have. I could swear the Buc fellas are sneaking in tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo! I expect after some humi time these will be really stellar. What a powerhouse of a smoke!! The best Nic. I've ever had! ARRRGGHHHH!! GET YE SOME NOW!

I also had a similar experience, with the Texas Star, Awesome Smoke. THANKS TINMAN. But with Bucs, I don't know how much age they need, as they are rolled from well aged leaves, to begin with, and are aged before Sale. They are the only cigar, that I would rate, with A.Fuente, in the same price range, though Padrons, are very nice, as well. I have trouble keeping enough around, to age any.

Yes Dave, Slimboli has reminded of the aged leaves several times. The flavor really was very good. I guess I just need a little time to get the moisture just right.

I picked up some Texas Star at the Bucanero Smoke in Southern Cali. I actually thought they were only okay. I love the Full Sails and the Salsas though. I should let my other Texas Stars sit awhile in my humi, and maybe they might rippen nicely.
