ikonoklast7 --- you use the acronyn 'BTOL' very loosely, like it is some kind of 'blanket protection' for you ...

As in every aspect of life, just because you smoke cigars, it doesn't mean that everyone who smokes cigars is one of your 'brothers of the leaf' ... just as in any club or gathering of people, not everyone will like each other ... nor do they have to to belong.

And since you brought it up ikon, what really bothers me and what I think is total BS, is the fact that Godfather, who you claim to he such a great 'BOTL', is attempting to 'gouge' whomever he can ... with that auction he has going on right now on that 'other' site. Oh sure, he may be trying to make money for Christmas gifts, but what kind of 'buy price' is that? $500 for a box of 858SG's, with few extras thrown in ?!? Give me a break ...

To me ... that just sucks the 'big one', and although I probably shouldn't have brought it up on this tread, it shows his true intents.

And it also makes me wonder what he plans on doing with the cigars in his box pass ... when they return home to him.

Ok I have been watching from the sidelines and figured I might as well toss in my .02 worth.
Once a gift is given it is up to the person recieving the gift to do whatever they please. Having said that, I would never think about selling a smoke that was gifted to me. Someone was nice enough to want me to enjoy it and I would hope that anyone that I gave a smoke to would want to enjoy that also. It just doesn't seem right to auction them off.

A BOTL is, well it's best described by the people like fbcoach, maddvibe. For me these guys just stepped up and sent cigars without being asked but because They wanted someone else to enjoy what they themseves have found to be good. No Question asked nothing in return asked. Or a trader like Maddmax that sent more than was necessary, I guess cause he wanted to make sure I was ok with the trade! I was embarrsed he sent so many! Like Etan said in the Pass rules he stole from Doc... "Be Fair" it's that simple! "Do what's right" I tell my kids, have a nice Sunday all 🙂

Just some thoughts from the west coast

I am rather enjoying the Nat Sherman corona I am smoking while trying to decide what I think about all this.

What is very bothersome to me in addition to the highly disrespectful practices described going on here are the "casualties" the forum has endured because the two specific main players in this saga (ikon and GF). I tried to be good to them...gifted smokes, joining GF's pass just so he could do a pass even though it was because he was pouting about being left out of someone else's.

Man was I an idiot. And since it seems that it has been decided that this issue is in fact a CBid forum issue, I thus submit my opinion...

To hell with GF and ikon as well for that matter.

Just what have I done here?

I asked people to stop flaming GF and give him the benefit of a doubt, and also spoke on his behalf because he no longer had a CBid account.

I've never intended to hurt anyone's feelings or offend anyone, and the times I have made mistakes, I've always apologized. It's not my problem if people can't forgive.

Or what's even worse is when someone is unknowingly doing something wrong and not a single f*cking soul raises their voice to let that person know. In past incidents, people have told me, I've thanked them for their input, and I've apologized to all offended in those situations. Of course, it's their place to forgive and go on, which if they so choose they can NOT forgive and choose to hold a grudge.

But if I've apparently done so many injustices to the members of this forum (and the ones I've done, know about, and have tried to make ammends for don't seem to me enough to drive droves away from these forums), then why wasn't I made aware of them?

If I've done anything wrong unknowingly and any of YOU didn't bother to tell me and instead spoke angry words about me in private to other people, then YOU are just as guilty as I am.

Please, tell me what crimes I've committed, isn't that every accussed person's right? I won't hesitate to apologize and try my very best never to do such bad things again.

I've said I'm sorry and corrected my ways and I will again if I've done wrong...it's not my fault if you can't forgive.
