My buddy (whose really helped to guide me through my newbie-dom) told me to leave the Opus's i just got in my humi for at least 6 months, even a year, and that then "they'll be the best smoke i've ever had."

maybe he was just telling me that just b/c i just started moving into medium and full bodied smokes.

does anyone have a concurring or dissenting opinion on this? or advice for me about when to smoke my Opus's(in terms of age).

It is my undestanding that OpusX, for the most part, are only relased when they are ready to smoke ... and have already been aged properly.

Of course, like a fine wine, continued aging can only make them better ...

Opusxx are fantastic right from the start but they mellow nicely in the humi for a few monthes as a cigar newbie try to put some away for sometime, but they are great right out the box

I think your buddy gave you good advise. Depending on how many you have, you could smoke one now, take notes and smoke another for comparison in a year.
If you are a newbie you will be amazed at how much your tastes may change in one year.
