Put a call out on the boards for smithbw... he's stationed in Germany also. He's a great guy and he may be able to tell you more about the country.

welcome! great place here with great guys (and gals) and 'gars. watch yourself overseas and enjoy germany fully. i've got a pal who just got out of the army who did many, many tours in germany. if you want me to hook you up, he loves to help new guys going over, and what he doesn't know about it, his german wife does.
