echo4alpha I swim a mile sometimes 2 in the summer days. One time I just got done about 150 yards off shore and a fellow aboutthis size I guess, (not too sure but it was huge)! Rolled over and looked me right in the eye! I decided it was a long enough swim for the day and swam in, nice and easy like! My buddy and I have been followed a few times by these guys (which is really good because it means the guys in grey suits aren't likely to be close by). LOve the beach and Ocean, We just don't think about all the little fishes out there. Very cool pic indeed

i can't swim, but for you, swimming along side a dolphin must be quite a thrill.

If you look closely, you will see that the surfer crapped his suit.

Rick yes it was kinda cool but it really got my attention!! Let me know where I belong in the food chain. They are huge and I was in THEIR world. I am glad to know they are around, because this past summer we had a great white caught off our pier! But You should see it when thses guys start jumping or riding waves like this one we all stop playing volleyball and watch. Grown men loving this stuff!! Don't tell the women we get "in touch with our inner being" 🙂 lmao

I used to beach dives at La Jolla Shores. One day I took a friend and entered the water south of where we usually do. The surf was minimal so we donned masks and fins and started to snorkel out to the trench. In about 3 feet of water I saw hundreds of sharks. It freaked me out!

I stopped moving and yelled out to my friend, "SHARKS!" He replied, "Do they bite?" All I could think of was the old saying - You don't have to outswim a shark, you just have to outswim your buddy.

They turned out to be harmless Leopard Sharks, but damned near turned my wetsuit in a maduro.
