Thanks to Chuckler I tried my first Padron last night. It was one of the regular line. Not the Anni line. It was outstanding! I smoked it while sitting on the couch with the wife. She said she couldn't even smell it really. The pre light smell was very unique. It was creamy and potent. It had lots of smoke and was such a treat. I'm definately picking up some more of these. I was trying to pick a flavor to match it with... I guess maybe a little on the citrus side. Maybe that was just the orange toothpaste before bed that I remember. But still an excellent time to be had with this one.

3000 is my "go to" gar. it's everything a cigar should be and nothing it's not. (3000 maddie, that is..) never detected any citrus.... good value too I'd pay 50% more than what my local charges for em (don't tell him that) too bad cbid's always go for more than my retail....

IMHO ... One of the best smokes in the $ 3.00 - $ 5.00 range for most sizes. The londres ( corona ) can still be had for under $ 2.50 ( box price ... per single ) at some locations. Quite a bargain, considering the quality of Padron.

I just got 3 boxes of the 3000 maduro for an unbeatable price. They are amazing cigars, and quite possibly the best cigar I have ever had. No cigar can go from smelling like a barnyard, to complete smooth, sweetness like the Padron 2000-5000 maduro does.

I am going to go have one right now....too much talkin bout them.

I have several boxes approaching the 4 year mark and let me tell you.....I would challenge anyone to tell the difference between the aged Regualar line and an Anni.

I had a Padron Executive that was 7 years old and let me tell you....WOW. What a smoke.

The 2000-3000 Maduro is my regular. I have at least one a day.

The PADRON line of X000s is a tremendous value and represents one of the finest bangs for the buck out there. The main difference between the tobacco used in the Anniversario line and "regular" line is the amount of aging the Annys go thru and thge extra fermentation the wrapper leaves go through.
I find it very credible that the taste of your 4 year old +++ box approaches the PAMs --- you have added that aging to the stick which elevates them to an entirely greater level.

I've heard this a lot.

In fact I heard it so much initially that I went out and bought a 4000 to try. I really wanted the 3000 but there were none in. I got the natural wrapper and that may have been the mistake.

I only made it about halfway through and decided not to finish it. The flavor was pretty good and consistent and this is why I wasn't impressed. I guess I was expecting the flavor to be a bit more complicated but it was just plain Jane all the same till I snuffed it. I recently picked up some delicias natural again for a good price so I'll give them another go round in a month or so once they've rested but at this point I prefer the Torano silvers any day, which I've always found for cheaper.

That's just me, and I'm completely willing to change my opinion if I try some more, I'm anxious to try some of the maduro but not till people stop snapping them up for nearly retail 😉 😃

Cheers.

The Maddies, are much better IMHO. I have had a PAN26, that didn't come close, to the PAM64. The x000 series of Maddies Rock, so I have not seen reason to try the naturals, when the maddie is right up my alley.

Something to keep in mind about what makes Pardon so good across the board. In general, they keep a 5-6 year inventory of tobacco leaf and select the most aged leaf for production. Also all their wrappers, both Naturals and Maduros are sun-grown to give them that toothy flavorful quality. The combination of that great sun-grown wrapper with the richness of that well aged Nicaraguan binder and filler is really an award winning combo.

I have always maintained that the regular "box run" Padrons - not the fancy annis - are super premium cigars at an every-day go-to price.

still dont know why Padron will not age cigars before selling them, they are still great cigars and i know he and his son age the tabac. before they roll, but these guys too me always need to sit a good few months before you light up. I would love to read the scores these guys would get if the would age the cigars before selling them.

I tried one of the padron regular lines, really small one, small corona sized that was like 2.50 or 3 bucks at a local shop. Didn't like it, tossed it before the halfway point, had a very metallic taste to it. I have a few of the 64 maddies sittin in my humidor and one of these days ill give the regular line a try again and hope I dont get that same taste of metal.

You guys feel about your Padrons the way I feel about my Hoyos. Not the Excaliburs, not the Dark Sumatra, not the Seleccion Royale, just the regular HDM MM is, IMHO, better than many premiums. Regular Punches and La Glorias are pretty damn good. as well.
