Well, it still seems like some sort of dream to me, or maybe I’m just in denial, but twenty years of my life just went by in the blink of an eye. Yep, you guessed it, this hard nosed, salty old military dogs career in the U.S. Air Force is QUICKLY coming to a close. It doesn’t seem that long ago I was a nervous young Airman who would jump to attention every time some lieutenant walked past. Yet these days all the officers greet me with a respectful hand shake and the junior officers address ME as Sir. Twenty years, where the hell did it go??????

Anyway, due to complications from various injuries I’ve received along with other health concerns, I haven’t been allowed to deploy in the past couple of years. Seeing as my Cuban cigar stock was always refilled during my worldly travels, coupled with my overly generous nature, I now find myself in a bit of a predicament. See, I’ve never been one to buy my ISOM’s over the internet because I’ve never really known who to trust, and seeing as I gave the last of my stash away at a dear friends retirement a while ago, now at this significant time in my life I find myself with nothing truly worthy of the event to smoke as well as anything to offer to my friends at my retirement party.

So here is my trade offer. I would very much appreciate some ISOM’s to celebrate my retirement and all you need to do is tell me what you have and what you would like in exchange that can be obtained domestically and if I can manage it we’ll make the deal. Simple as that. As it stands right now I do have a couple of items that might interest some of you, but I’ll just leave all the particulars to Email.

If you’re interested Email me at

kcody: i haven't an ISOM to trade, but i just wanted to step up and wish you all the best on your retirement. while at wright-patt in the armstrong mil research lab, i worked with a handful of guys saying goodbye to the life, and it seems like a mixed blessing. on the one hand, it's retirement. on the other hand... well, it's retirement. lol

here's hoping you'll go with a lot of good memories and that you'll make many more in the years to come on the other side of your time in uniform. thank you for serving your country, and god bless!

Thank you all for the kind words, but I have never felt anybody had to thank me for what I’ve spent last twenty years of my life doing . I have enjoyed every minute of it.

Cavallo, your right, it is a very mixed blessing. Although part of me is looking forward to living what you all would consider a “normal” life, I have no clue what life is like outside of the military and to be quite honest it’s damn scary to think about making the change.

Anyway, my retirement ceremony is on the 20th of Feb. I probably should have thought to offer this trade earlier but I guess I was in a bit of denial about all this and believe it or not I the last two months seemed to go by in just a few days.

If any of you are interested and can deal with the short time frame then just email me at my address above.

Sorry I haven’t gotten back to those of you who emailed me sooner, but this whole retirement thing has had me running around in circles for the last week. Like any other government related ordeal it involves more leg-work as well as paperwork than you could imagine. For those of you who emailed me I hope you received my reply as of today. For the rest of you this offer is still open. I am having a rather large retirement ceremony and I would like to have enough of the “good stuff” to pass around for the occasion so let me know.
