Does anyone use a Csonka smoker cloaker or equivilant in their home? I have a room above the garage that I hang out in and wondering if one of those things would keep the smoke at bay if I puffed my stogies up there.

i live in the los angeles basin in terminator country.

we have something called smog, a mysterious cloud of foul smelling poisonus gas. if you are in an area of the mountains where you can see the basin below you, you see a kind of mist, the SMOG.

before europians invaded native american's country, the area had a name that i can't recall, but it meant area of unclear air. something to do with the fact that we are surrounded by mountains forming this basin.

since the elimination of the red car electric trolleys bought out by the auto industry, in order to eliminate
fairly decent public transportaation, we all drive cars everywhere.

unclean air became smog.

good cigar smoke is perfectly fine with me, so i don't use a smoke clearing, filtering device.

i think that means i don't know if the csonka works.

The Csonka ozone generator works. I have one of the smaller spherical ones. Leave it on while you're absent to freshen the air. Cigar odors are oxidized not just covered up but I don't like to be in the room while it's operating. If you're hoping that it will keep the smoke from escaping to nearby rooms while you are smoking I think you'll be disappointed.

Remember, I'm a smoker so I'm not real sensitive to the lingering odors but my wife attests that the air is much better. Also, try it in your car.

i don't have a csonka, but i do have an ozone generator from alpine systems. it does not instantly clean the air and keep it smoke free. what it WILL do is slowly turn a room from smelling like an ashtray into a room that smells like a spring rain shower. but as the gentleman above mentioned, it won't disappear the smoke and odor while you're smoking. it will clean the air effectively afterwards, though.

The paper last week said breathing ozone on a regular basis was not good for one's health, kind of like living under high tension power lines.

LMAO at RICK..........that may be the most direct and encapsulated answer he has ever given. Csonka I've never tried. There are a number of air freshners out now that are specifically designed for tobacco smoke and do a great job, IMHO. You can buy a Hell of a lot of air freshner for what a Csonka will cost you. Just my thoughts..............

johnfs: yep! i'm still nervous about all the talk about how dangerous it is. i run mine all the time, but without the ozone generating plates installed, so it's a regular ionizing air cleaner.
