I received a NapoleonII humidor last week and have been trying to condition it. I charged the humidifier (which was calibrated) with 50/50 and placed a shot glass of 50/50 in the bottom drawer. After a few days the rel. humidity has fluctuated between 50 and 65, mainly staying around 55. I added another shot glass of 50/50 to the top drawer and the same thing occurs. I can shine a light into the humi through the cracks between the drawers, so basically I am attemtping to humidfy my whole house. Is this typical of the quality of these humis? Anyone have any hints on what I should do (possibly try to seal the drawers with felt)? Or have I done something wrong? Thanks in advance for the replies.

I've got a Napoleon I and had similiar problems. I used a few cedar strips (from cigars that are wrapped in a cedar sleeve) to shim the drawers to be tighter. Works fine after that.

I have put a thin strip of felt along the top of the the drawer and it has workrd out great. My top draw was the only one I was having problems with. I bought the felt at Walmart with the sticky stuff already on the backside. Hope this helps.

I have the same problems with mine. The analog guage is worthless (in mine). Felt strips and cedar sound like a good solution.

I put an Oshkosh Premier Humidifier and a digital hygrometer in mine and it holds a constant 67%.

Remember, the humidor is not meant to be airtight ...

Put only distilled h2o in there (take out anything with 50/50) until you reach 70.
