I won a box of Torano Dominican Selection Carlos I. The price was good. Has anyone tried these? Are they comparable to the other Toranos (excluding the 1916)? I'm hoping that these are in the medium to full range, and that the extra aging adds to the smothness.

ts: i recently received one of these and can't wait to try it, but i'm giving it some humi time (prolly to the end of the month).

when you do light one of these up, please give is a review? i've heard nothing but good things about this, and from what i've read it does compare very well with other toraño premium cigars. congrats on getting a box!

When these 1st came up for bid on CBID I grabbed 2 boxes as I had a feeling the closing bid prices would eventually go for much more. They have been sleeping in my giant coolador for a bit..... hmmmmmm, maybe I'll have to crack a box open and give one a try. Very very yellow cello.... must resist urge.... have too much work to do right now..... must resist...

I smoked on the other day after a month in my humidor. The oils on my fingers were the sign of a wonderful time. It was smoked down to my burning fingers, then I ate the butt... Damn, what a great cigar!

oooooops. i'll not be burning one after all. 😞

i thought what i had was a dominican, but i have no idea what this one is, actually. it's got a black band with a red border and says only Carlos Toraño on the band.

any idea what this is?

If it has a box press, it is Nic, if it is round, it is Dom.

Hey Tony,
I'll check and see if I have anymore Nics, If I do I'll send you a couple. They are mighty tasty, though the Dom. as great as well. As a matter of fact, I haven't found a Torano, that isn't a great smoke, though the reserva selecta does not fit my flavor profile. It is still a great cigar.

thanks, dave! you rock!! hey, are there any toraños that you've not tried yet? if so, let me know. also, have you tried the RS maduro? whooooole different ballgame. i don't care for the RS natural either (taste profile reasons), but the maduro is totally different and very, very good!

The only Torano, which I haven't tried, is the Tribute. But I am sure I will love it, when I get the chance.

P.S. The reserva selecta, is good, in maduro, but I don't see them anymore, for some reason.
