Had my first Punch Gran Puro last night (Santa Rita). I usually don't fall for Hondurans...but this was good stuff.

I can't give all the expert review lingo, but it was distinctive. It was well made and the flavor was something that stood out from most of the rest of things I smoked. I really like when a cigar has distinctive characteristics.

Anyway...all that to say, I'll take donations if anyone is feeling guilty about hoarding theirs.

only punch i had was *thinks* a box-pressed... rare corojo? enjoyed it thoroughly, but (knowing not much about far too much) i thought that punch cigars' signature was that they were strong and full-bodied -- the kind you oughtn't attempt on an empty stomach.

anyway, i read somewhere that punch had a CTSH wrapped cigar, and this name sounded like it.

so what was this one like taste-wise and strength-wise? spicy or ? do you have to have a big steak dinner before having a PGP?

It was a Honduran puro...meaning everything in it was Honduran. And it wasn't overbearing...nothing like my JdN 1970 experience. though I would always prefer a steak dinner before any cigar, it is not necessary for this one.

I think you might be thinking of the Gran Cru with the CTSH wrapper. there is a mfg site that has all the info on it. don't know if it is kosher to post it cause i think it links to retail sites.

I LOVE these things!

One of my new favorites. Went thru 10 of them faster than you can say...um well I dont know but I really enjoy them.

Full bodied, smooth and quite satisfying.
