only tried colibri (II) - works great, but the button gets a little hot after 20 seconds - not usually a problem unless others borrow it

I have had great luck with Colibri in the past. I have also had great luck with other brands.

Something to consider when buying a lighter: The TSA (Transportation Security Admin) will confiscate torch lighters, but not standard flame lighters. You might want to consider a standard flame lighter for travel.

i've been hooked on colibri for the past three years. i can't use "regular" lighters, as it feels like the skin's being ripped off my thumb with "wheel and flint" lighters, and i can't push down ignition on most newer "childproof" lighters. colibri is just simple to use and is a good quality lighter -- even their less expensive lines, like the firebird works well. never a hot button.

however, m3swatson recently gifted me with a nibo space lgither with 3 flame torch. not only is this lighter very, very good for lighting cigars w/the 3 flames, but it looks sharp, feels good and weighty in the hand and is apparently indestructable. the price is right, too.

never thought i'd say this, but i recommend the nibo over the colibri -- and i'd recommend a tiger torch over either.

Had two Colibri's in the past 6 months and have had nothing but problems with both.

My Colibre Chancelor, I got in a trade from Rob, works great. I had some trouble, with an earlier colibre I had, and the company repaired it, but it took awhile to get it back. Hey Rocco, are you Purging the lighters, before refilling them? It makes a hell of a difference.

i was just gonna say -- i trashed a couple of colibris by not bleeding the fluid out completely before refilling. it TRULY makes a difference. since i started doing that, i've not had a single problem with a colibri lighter. also, you've got to use at least 3-filtered fluid like colibri or lava (filtered 5x), etc.

i took my trashed colibri back to my tobacconist, and he was able to fix it for me and told me about bleeding the fluid. i'm glad he got it going again for me, and since then it's been fine. if you can get your 2 fixed, try 'em again and bleed them before refilling. i'd be interested to know if that fixes everything.

I have a Colibri Trifecta (or whatever its called). It is terrible. I have tried bleeding it and everything I can imagine. I usually end up using the $12.00 disposable I get from the cigar shop.
