OK, I'm about ready to start getting materials. I've opted for a size that will let me get the sides, top, bottom, back, and a few major shelves out of two sheets of plywood. I can use spanish cedar for a liner, and maybe red oak for the front facings. The overall size looks like it's settled down to 6' high X 3' wide. From the floor to 3' it will be 2' deep, and at the 3' level, it will be set back to 1'. I'll use glass doors, with weather stripping to maintain a seal on the upper cabinet, and solid cabinet doors to enclose the bottom. I plan to use the bottom for aging boxes, and stashing the stuff I want to forget about for awhile. The top I'll use to display my good stuff, and be able to choose without opening the humi up. The resulting shelf from the set back will be a good place to put a small humi that I can put a days worth of gars in so I don't have to open the main cabinet more than once every two or three days. I'm going to place a LARGE foam filled oasis at the rear bottom side, and use a computer type fan to circulate air through the humidifier, and up a duct to the top. Air displaced at the top should drop to be recirculated. If I can, I'd like to figure out how to have the fan cut off by a signal from a hygrometer, much like a Cigar Oasis unit. If all else fails, I'll rely on the stabilizing effects of the 50/50 mix. Any ideas to put with this?
