Ok, after a long weekend of work, my amoire humidor conversion is just about finished. My question is, what should I use to take the sap off of the spanish cedar? There isn't much, but a little here and there.

Acetaline torch and a scraper would probably work... but if you don't want to be drastic, maybe a little rubbing alchohol.

Wouldn't happen to be one of those 6' tall 1940's cedar amore would it? A buddy of mine has one that we refinished and I'm trying to talk him into converting it into a humi.

Pretty close. It's a 40's but only 4 ft. tall. Wooden wheeled casters and all.

Bud, I would rub it out with a moist cloth. If it is just a tiny bit, here and there it probably won't harm anything, or put the dog rockets next to the bleed through and it might improve the damn things. Charlie

I love sappy dog rockets! Try the alcohol, then try a heat gun. Be nice to it.

I actually have had to deal with this one. Put a blow dryer on the sap and wipe off the gooey excess. Piece of cake.

Wrap your cake before you put it in your humi and the sides won't get gooey. Would spice cake make your sticks spicy?
