hey! my local guys had one after all. 🙂

i just got a bakelite cigar holder and used it for the first time. i'm VERY happy with it.

the only "con" is that my lips aren't on the tobacco -- but that's also a good thing for me. i smoked a cigar just now and put the holder on about 3/4 of the way through.

my fingers get sensitive, so when i get close to nubbing, it's either look for a clip of sorts or get ouchy fingers (lips, too). with this, though, oh man... just slide it right in there and nub away! the smoke's not too hot either, and i'm not burning my lips or fingers on it.

also, on this particular cigar, a figurado, the head started to unravel the wrapper. but putting it in the holder, the wrapper was held together AND i didn't have little shreds ot tobacco to spit out either.

i won't be using this for the first half of a cigar, but it is a GREAT little do-dad that allows a nubbie-loving tender paw like myself to enjoy the very last (and, imo, tastiest) inches of a cigar w/o any hassle.

Kinda like a roach clip for cigars, huh? Not that I, a law abiding military police officer would know ANYTHING about roach clips.

Well... I DID go to high school.

lol it's okay, macs -- i'm an ex-cop and have a pretty extensive knowledge of roachclips. coz we, uh, see a lot in that business... yeah... 😉

jack: well, sir, my local guy has a variety of gauge sizes and each are $3.95. the one i picked up yesterday worked SO well. i smoked my cigar about 2/3 of the way and then put the remainder into the holder -- held the cigar just fine, smoke came through just fine, and i smoked it down until it disappeared into the holder (!!) and didn't burn my fingers or lips, so i'm preeeeeetty impressed! this was perfect for me.

plus, there's just something very tasty about the nubbins of a good cigar. ahhhhhhhhh. 🙂

anyway, jack, if you don't get one (or two) here and still want one, let me know and i can get one locally for ya. BBELTRISI at ec.rr.com (just in case).

but you really can't beat cbid for price, and getting a 2-pack is all the mo' bettah.
