I'm new to the CB family, so I don't know anyone yet. So, I'm posting this thread to ask all who read this a favor. I just returned home from 12 months in Iraq with my unit, Bco 1-12th Infantry,3rd BCT,4ID, and I have spent alot of the money my wife didn't spend on cigars. I started enjoying cigars at the begining of my tour, and found good ones hard to come bye. Sure, you can buy cheap cuban counterfits from Hodgie but they suck. I'm asking anyone with a loved one still in Iraq(not kuwait cause they can buy the real cubans by the box for the price of one cohiba!)to send me their APO address so that I can send them a few good ones. I also encurage everyone else to spare a few of your finest to send to a soldier. You have no idea what reciving a good cigar or two from a complete stranger can do for a soldiers morale. So please keep supporting our boys n girls, and my brothers n sisters. Thank you all, Ted

Great gesture, 67stangnjack !!!

I don't have any "loved ones" over there, but support the men and woman who are there...

I have sent several packages already over to the troops and I'm sure I will send more...

PS... Welcome to CBid !! Enjoy your stay.

Welcome 67stangnjack,
First of all, Thank You, for all the things you have done for your country. We are in your debt.
Secondly, Great plan. There are several, members here, who do just that. Penguin13 took up a collection, around Christmas, and sent out several Hundred cigars to the troops in Iraq. I sent a box, last moth, to troops in Iraq, not including the smokes I send to my Uncle in the Gulf, USN.
If you have a list of APOs, of deserving BOTL, and SOTL, I am sure many here would be happy to send smaller bombs, to our warriors. I have a list, that I got in Feb. from Docrks, and am working through it. If anyone needs an APO, to send some cigars, or beef jerky, dry roasted nuts, new socks, etc. let me know, and I'll help you out.
Later

I have a friend at work here, a friend that I frequently supply with cigars, whose son is two weeks into his tour in Iraq. LCPL Matthew D. Laughlin USMC, young kid, like many of you, doing a job that no-one wants. Matt grew up in Sacramento, and is an acomplished hunter, and well, what higher compliment can you pay someone's character than to say that they are stepping up and serving their country. I am proud to be associated with such a family and I want to do anything I can to send them support. So if anyone is looking for an address, I will hook you up, Matt is a great kid.

Again... I just got megaton bombed by michaelsean and a couple others have stated to me that more are on the way. Thank you all very much who have bombed, but since we now have FPO's and APO's available to us, lets send them to the people that are currently deployed.

The crew of the USS Mobile Bay thanks you immensely for your support. We appreciate the cigar gifts and our brothers and sisters who are currently deployed would too. Lets cigar bomb 'em!!

Ted.....My son's best friend is going to Afganistan very soon. Do they have access to cigars there or is it a good choice to send there as well? He is like a member of our family and I am sure we will be sending regular care packages his way.

How does one send cigars to those deployed? Are these servicemen confirmed cigar smokers?

I'm searching for a beter understanding as to how one can send cigars to our deployed servicemen and women.

My apologies, my last post did not sound very good (gg).

I didn't mean to imply that the previous explanations were not good explanations.

Just curious to learn how one can send cigars to the deployed troops who specifically smoke cigars, or if that is even possible.

This Marine (and his dad) are confirmed smokers, I have address (and APO? I am not familiar with shipping to military?)

Can I add this one to your list Homebrew?

I am going to send this guy a box, but should I get people to send to me, then on to him, direct to him, to someone else who is doing a service-bomb? Any suggestions would be helpful, I want to take care of this guy.

Thanks to all of you guys for giving me this idea.

Double D

The easiest way is to send them to someone who has a friend or relative deployed. I sent a couple boxes to my nephew awhile ago. It was more than he could smoke or store for a long time so I'm sure he passed them around to his friends. He has since returned home from Iraq. A lot of guys here have friends/relatives serving and would be happy to forward cigars.

A word of caution though. It's a pretty sick world sometimes and people need to be cautious about who they are giving information to in regard to addresses of service men and women.
