I have been seeing some decent looking humidors for auction here at cigarbid. Has anyone bought one of these and if so how is the quality ???

You're prolly looking for the bigger humidors, but I just took delivery on a Stanton 12-15 capacity for my office desk. That way, I can keep a good supply at my office instead of trying to guess what I might want to smoke at lunch or after work. I am very impressed: full felt bottom, nice wood work inside and out. Unlike most humidors with very optimistic capacity ratings, I had no problem putting 13 churchills in it and it still has 2 humidifiers in it while I bring it up to a good RH.

Actually the Stanton was one of the ones I was checking out. Good to hear that it sounds of pretty good quality. I am looking to do something similar as you. I need a small amount of cigars on hand at a location other than my home.

Thanks

I have an El Rey 150 (Pretty glass top) and love it. I also bought a Verona from here and have loved it, too.

Both of these humidors are in use today.

I got the Presidente humidor with the glass top from CBid... very happy, holds humidity good... Right now, it is filled with ONLY ISOM's... I guess I must really trust it !! LOL

It almost seems like there are, like, two manufacturers that make humidors. I see the same ones from different places with different names (and different prices).

Anyone else get that vibe?

I bought a Napoleon and an El Presidente a couple months ago and they're both great so far. I got tired of digging around in a cooler and these give me easy access.
One note about cbid. I broke the hydrometer on the El Presidente when I was setting it up. It fills a big hole in the front, so I needed an exact replacement. I sent cbid customer service a message with what happened and asked if I could purchase a replacement hydrometer for that unit. They sent me one at no charge. Sure it's a little thing, but it indicates to me they'll stand behind what they sell.

These humidors are (I believe) made in China. They look okay and are perfectly functional. And they will probably last as long as you need them to. Are they worth the $100 or so? I can't deny it!

As someone else stated-the humidors here are given different names by different distributors but are all the same. I bought mine from ebay, then saw it here. It goes for about the same money I paid on ebay. I have also seen the humidors I have in local cigar shops for about 2X as much as what they routinely go for here.
Bottom line-good humidors, great prices (usually) and that makes for happy smokes.

I also have the El Rey 150 humidor and would not trade it for anything else! Great product.

Hey Low,

Too bad you need an 80-100 capacity humi for your ISOMs, eh? You dog.

So where does the credo go in that thing anyway?

rd2thbn,

Same question as for Lowman.
