I've seen quite a few vintage cigars in shops and online, some going for an easy $100 a stick. I have a couple newer favorites like the Onyx Reserves and Players Clubs. I would love to keep a couple onyx "buried away", but is it that simple. Will these get better with age or slowly go bad (they would obviously be kept in a humidor). I hate to pay top dollar for a vintage or is it really worth that much to enjoy one vintage versus a box for the same $.

Both Cigars you mentioned are relatively new cigars, but if you keep them in the proper conditions, they should improve with age! Will they be considered "vintage" cigars, I doubt it! Charlie

Well, my dog buried some of my cigars in the back yard. Maybe i'll dig them up and try to sell them.

I think M's referring to the Onyx Vintage '97 line. I think they're new, and not much more than the Reserve line. Anyone tried them yet? I'm a big fan of the Onyx Reserve line.

Bill, were the cigars he buried Acids, Warhalls or Lone Wolf's? If so bury them deeper!

The word "Vintage" is added to the name of a cigar by some marketing person in order to get some idiot to pay thru the nose for an average cigar. And then the idiot thinks that hey I just payed $30 for this cigar it has to be great. In fact he tells him self that it was a great cigar in order to justify spending $30 on the POS. He then tells his friends what a great cigar it was and how much it cost him. The best cigars I have smoked to date have been less than $6 a stick. I have been given some of these so called great "vintage" cigars that retail for $20,$30,$40 a stick and have not been very impressed by any of them. I do express my gratitude by saying thank you, and not expressing my true thoughts on the cigar. The person that gives the cigars to me thinks they are great and I guess that's all that matters. It's all marketing in my opinion.

I'm from Cleveland. It's amazing how much people charge and worse yet how many people will pay just for the bragging rights of having one ( a vintage). I can't say I blame the shop owners. They could probably throw some swishers in a nice humidor and charge $20, and someone would buy it. ....$100 was a bit of an exageration though
