I was out of town this week and realized I forgot my cutter at home. So I went to the front desk and used a sissors. The question for you is: What is the most unusual or ingenious method you used to cut a cigar when your regular cutter was unavailable?

I once used my Dremel tool with the cutting wheel attachment. Beautiful cut, but burnt the end a little.

Cut the end? Hmmm, thats a good idea.
All along I thought my smokes had a tight draw to them.

Well Cruiser the question was "What is the most unusual or ingenious method you used to cut a cigar when your regular cutter was unavailable". Not "what do you do when you don't have a cutter." But thanks for playing. We have some nice parting gift for you. :o)

I cut it with a 4 inch angle grinder and then lit it with a welder. I was in the field and desperate. cj

Not ingenious or unusual but I used a golf tee to punch a series of holes in the head. Another time, I fashioned a cutter out of a clothespin spring, a paperclip, a rubber band, 1 jigger of vermouth and about 2 ounces of flour.

Used a pencil on the golf course once and it actually made a fairly nice "bullet" punch. Of course the cigar was a robusto and that was a good thing, cause if it had been a panatella or someother sissy type cigar it would never have worked! This should bring a round of boos and hisses from those who like panatellas! Charlie

Speaking of not having a cutter, last week I learned that now you can't carry a two finger cutter onto an airplane. I'm not complaining, but isn't that kind of silly? I could picture some terrorist screaming at a flight attendant, "put your finger in here, now!"

They will also take a bullet punch away from you as they look at it with "deer in the headlights" eyes trying to figure out what the hell is this thing? Just turn em around and light the cap of the cigar as discussed in previous posts! This does elimnate the transport of torpedos and pyramids on trips, smoke coronas, robustos, etc. Light the cap! It's confirmed, Charlie HAS lost his mind. "Light the cap." -What are YOU smoking? 😉 The airlines should have some kind of surrendering lockbox where you can give all the items they think are weapons before the flight, and pick them up at the end of the flight.
