Who is the person you would quit smoking cigars for?

If they ask you to quit ,who would it be?

Mine is my kids. If my wife ask me to quit Id still have to smoke, just not around her. But if one of my kids ask me id have to try to bribe them first.

You said it all. This one really took some time to explain to my kids. They are all young 13-9 years and they have heard me talk about NOT smoking and drinking for they're entire lives.

Well when I started smoking(and I don't too often around them, but when I am on the MBHH deck they always come by and make a face and tell me it stinks) I told them. When you have done 2 Ironmans and then if you want a cigar, I'll fire one up with you. Your young your still growing and you don't need to do this at all. I also try and show them that exercise is really important...double standard yes, and yes I worry about it at times.... sorry long answer, good question.

Excellent question. I dont have any kids (as far as I know), but hope to when I get older. I always wondered how some people explained that to their kids. I would not want my kids smoking at all when they were young. Only cigars (if they wanted to) as they got older.

GOD, but only if he asked me nicely and maybe threw in some perks ( woman, money, longevity ). JonR

Nobody I care for would ask me to. God permits me to and so does the govt (at least for now). If I were in a situation and my wife's life were at stake, I guess I'd quit, but only for her!!! No One Else. I smoke, drink and have a good time....I'm Lutheran.

My wife, bless her soul, allows me some of my vices, as she knows that I will never be perfect and she know that allowing me my cigars keeps me from other vices.

She had her opertunity to ask me to quit and chose not to take it.

My boys like the smell of most of them, but I try and not smoke around them, unless outside.

So, who would I quit for? I would have to agree on God/great spirit.

Only if I asked myself to quit, or my health told me to.

I've smoked cigars for over forty years. If my wife or daughters conveyed that my smoking really created an emotional hardship for them, I'd consider quitting. In the past year, I have cut back to less than a box per week.

If the time ever arose where I had to carry forward a balance on the credit card that I use only to buy cigars, I'd quit immediately.

Nobody. Only reason I would stop is for health or monetary reasons. If I cared for a person enough to quit for them, then they would care for me enough to not ask me to.

I have two children, both boys 2 and 5. I've smoked cigars for over 18yrs. My wife, though annoyed with the money I spend is very understanding and would never ask me to Quit...thats why I married her in the first place...My boys know that cigar smoking is not for children it's for adults just like drinking, driving (not in that order) and lighting the gas grill.

It's nobody elses business if I smoke.

This has surprised me as to how much people enjoy a cigar. I think i can understand why. i have been smoking for only a year. I so enjoy coming home and sitting outside with a good cigar. It relaxes like nothing else.

I think if Mr. Mean came back and asked me to quit....I might.

I dunno ... for me to quit, it'd have to be for some reason of my own, not for someone else's reason ...

But, I WOULD like to see Mr Mean come back, whether he told Bud to quit or not ...

My father. He passed away 8 years ago, so if he some how got word to me and asked me to quit I'd take that as a sign to do so.
