The cigar has a very nice construction. The wrapper is a deep chestnut wrapper,
as dark as some maduros. The smell is fantastic, maybe nutmeg/nut.

I clip it and get a few prelight draws. Perfect tightness.

It lights easily and this maybe a first for me the entire foot lit evenly. The first taste I detect
is wood mixed with nuts.

It stays mellow for the first ¼ then begins to open up. At about the 1/3 mark I notice a bitter
taste. It is a pleasant bitter much like a good cup of black coffee. Also hints of chocolate
are there.

Close to half way and the ash finally falls. The cigar has become very complex and it is hard
For me to differentiate tastes. The bitter flavor is still there along with the chocolate and nut.

Ash stayed on till I nubbed it. The cigar was reminiscent of a Diamon Crown maduro I recently smoked. Very pleasant after taste. This was a full hour of pleasure and was definitely a
quality smoke. I have never smelled a gar quite like it but I have never had a DC nat either.

#4 is one of my favorites when I get my hands on em'.....and this was another example of a cigar that was aged, and looked like it was rolled by a stud in the factory. Very decieving.

well the CAO criollo has the same smell and looks the same also.

PT not even close to a Brazilia. I smoke a couple of those a week.

#4 was an aged CAO Criollo torp.

I wanted to have #1 and #4 as the sometimes overlooked CAO's and tell me what you thought of them without bands. Sounds you liked them both.

I had only smoked one criollo before and it was a pato. This was much better.

The Extreme is a personal favorite but I had never seen the torp like that. all mine are box pressed.

I saw the nub....glad you liked them. Most of the other Extremes I have are also boxpressed, I just kept this one in my "torpedo" humidor for 4 or 5 months and the wrapper kept getting more of an "aged" rounded box-press to it.

The Criollos for some reason are hard to come by in trades and PIF's...etc. and I usually only see the petite corona size. I have not had the urge quite yet to throw-down on one of those fancy-shmancy slide tray boxes...but I may have to...for those days when the 1916 Torano torp. just don't look good.

I guess you could say I fibbed when I said that atleast 2 would be top-shelfers. #2 definitely is, but after I sent the "mystery 4", I had a gut-feeling #3(Dupont) was a stupid choice and I should have tried to slip a Don Carlos by you.
