so, i'm doing some 'lor maintanance and happen upon a little padron tucked away in the corner. lo and behold, it looks like a windshield at 0500 in the middle of a boston winter -- frosty looking crystals just sprouting allll over the place!

from having seen it in photos and a couple of times in my local shop's humidor, i take it that this is plume. if so, it will be the first time i've had a cigar "bloom" while in captivity. 🙂

couple of questions, though.

1. it seems to be on the wrapper as much as on the cigar itself. izzat normal?

2. are there any other factors besides time that can get a cigar to bloom?

3. any suggestions on how to smoke a cigar with plume on it?

1. you must mean cello, and yes it can transfer.

2. oils present, and storage conditions.

3. lightly wipe it off and enjoy!

It's not necessary to wipe the plume off before you smoke the cigar, it's basically a matter of preference. It won't change the flavor or quality of the smoke in any way. Enjoy it 😉

I don't wipe mine off,as I like the slightly bitter taste of the bloom on the cap. X
