I've recently read threads on two other cigar boards that the Cupido brand is no longer being made. One thread suggested that the Cupido brand may be purchased by a new owner and the line of cigars resurrected. I'll be searching the web for the deeply discounted closeouts.

yes. Keep us abreast of your research. I have just recently tried the "Doble", which was a sweet smoke! That would be disheartening to hear that Cupido, as we know it, is no more.

Went to the CUPIDO websight and there is no news. Sent an email today but have not recieved anything back yet.Also tried to call them but the 1-800 # was out of service. That's not good.

these are fantastic cigars, with the tiny torpedoes you get a free roach clip to hold the cigar so you can smoke it down to the nub. Though I use it as a tie clip when in my fancy britches going to church.

Saved my pennies and now have two boxes of Criollo Doble. I was so good this month too.

Well, here's a word-of-mouth update from a friend who owns a cigar shop. Cupido, the brand, owned by Dixi Monaco and Yossi Kviatkovsky, is dead. It will not be represented at RTDA 2004.

The Cupido sell off of old, well-aged inventory has begun. I've already seen drastic price reductions on a couple of websites.

Must be why the Criollos were selling at bargain rates 6 months ago. I will age them well and savor each one!

Confirmed, Cupido, the brand, owned by Dixi Monaco and Yossi Kviatkovsky, is dead. They are no longer being made by Henry "Kiki" Berger. But that does not mean that the brand will not be resurrected by another owner. The Cupido Criollo was 1998 crop Nicaraguan grown, and, now, with six years of age is excellent. They are available at very good prices.
