When I was rookie,I dipped the cap into cognac as I smoked. Now I just smoke the cigar and drink the cognac. X

have read a few posts here where some have got a tupperware and placed gars in it to sit for weeks with a shot glass full of stuff to flavor and that works well.

havent tried it yet.

my advice - what X said, drink the liquid, smoke the cigars. but if you're curious search for 'seasoning, flavoring, infuse, infusing, imbibe, imbibing' I think that should give you some info

I did it and posted about it, but they all sucked. I COULDNT GIVE THESE AWAY. The only go part was the acids that i did really cool taste, but reg. cigars just suck when you do it to them.

Tried a amall Humi with a few cigars and a glass of cognac. The gars got the flavor of the Cognac but tasted really awfull---ruined some good cigars as well as the humi--won't do this again.

I've put a few mild smokes in a tight sealing tupperdor and filled a watch glass with cognac(any chemist types will know what I'm talking about) and left them be for two weeks-the cigars pick a light sense of the cognac. Not overpowering by any means, more noticeable in the smoke actually than in the body of the cigar itself.

I know a guy who puts marbles in a glass jar. Just enough to pour some whiskey in with the marbles. Then he puts in the dog rockets & seals it for 30 days. The whiskey doesn't touch the cigars. Good luck. I haven't tried them myself.

My Mom once slapped me for ruining her Jack Daniels with Coca Cola, LOL. I feel it's the same with cigars. If it's a good cigar, smoke it as is. If it's a dog rocket, it won't get better and you'll have ruined some good liqour. JMHO

You do have to match the cigar with the liquor. It doesn't always work out too well. But I've had good results with Teamo and 15 year old Scotch. A little goes a long way. My approach was simple and crude but it gets the job done.

Take a large dinner plate and pour about 2/3 tsp. of Scotch on the plate. Then spin the cigar around in the liquid so that the entire wrapper is wet. Need I mention that this will tend to damage the wrapper a bit? Then comes the clever part, which is kind of a "shotgun marriage" of flavors. Put the damp stick in an aluminum tube and close it up. These tubes are not airtight so the excess moisture and alcohol will evaporate in a few days. The result is a somewhat rustic looking smoke with some added flavor.

I have also tried using cognac and armagnac without much success to speak of but nothing was ever really bad.

i tried this with some high quality vanilla and a couple of decent cigars. the cigars picked up JUST the smell/taste of the alcohol in it -- not a bit of vanilla, though. just smelled/tasted nasty -- like whiskey breath, but not the whiskey.
