I am looking to purchase some of these. My question is how much would I need for a humidor with a capacity of approximately 100 cigars ???

1/2 pound.

Always remember though, as soon as you buy Climmax beads.....you'll need more. I would recommend buying a little extra.

They recommend 1#/5 cu. ft. Measure the box in inches L,W,H and divide each by 12. Then multiply all 3 and you have cu. footage.

ex.

16"/12=1.33'

12"/12=1.00'

14"/12=1.17'

1.33' X 1.00' X 1.17' = 1.55 cu. ft.

So in this case I would use 1.55/5 or .31 pounds

Smelly's right. Just get a pound, use the appropriate amount and save the rest for your next coolidor.

Hey sketcha,

I beleive your calculations are off when calculating sq. feet.

It's definately good stuff... only problem is, the container I must use in my 250 capacity humidor takes up valuable space from my smokes!

I swear by the stuff though... My humi is sitting at 73 degrees and 66% humidity right now and I live in an arid climate.

i have started to use the beads in a plastic tube with a cap that has holes (used to be the humi tubes with the gel that i removed). Seems to work good and only takes the space for a cigar.

Hey MACS(SW), I have to agree with what Schmitty22 recommends. You can get one of the Drymistat tubes here on Cigarbid and fill it with the Climmax beads. It's only about as large as a Churchill cigar and you can fit a lot of the media in it. Hopefully this would clear up some room for you.

I love the beads but I would go for the 65% beads. It keeps your smokes less wet. Will help with draw.
