Okay, this is part review, part story. The Torano Signature Perfecto is a handsome cigar. Nice aroma. Clip the end and whoosh, it starts to unravel. Crap! Undaunted I saunter to the back deck to fire it up. A little unraveling can't kill a good cigar. So I light up and suddenly find myself under attack by a robin. This robin built a nest on our deck, but apparently she decided to stop honoring our neutrality accord which had been working fine over the last few weeks. Deciding it was too much work to try and smoke while ducking attempts to give me a haircut by the bird, I decide to re-locate to the front porch. In the meantime the cigar is performing nicely. Good burn, wonderful flavor of leather and cocoa. Flavor is steady, burn good until I get near the banc. The top band, the Torano band slides off fine. The lower band, the Sig band will not budge. It needs to be peeled. Someone at the Torano factory must have used Krazy Glue on this thing because more wrapper came up despite my careful attempts at removal. Now I'm in trouble. The wrapper is starting to go. I managed to get just past halfway before I started to look like I was smoking a handful of leaves. the biggest problem was the thing tasted so good. I'll just have to get another.

nice funny story. I love the CT sig, but agree that the 2 separate bands are always a pain to remove.

nfl: over on the toraño site there was a discussion about the bands, and i guess the sig has had some problems. imo, though, this is one of THE best smokes that toraño puts out, and you can count on that great taste to be there consistently.

i have problems with the exodus bands. what i've taken to doing is to just barely moisten it at the place where the band ends overlap. let it sit there for a few seconds, and then i carefully peel the band off. works like a charm.

now, folks don't often go around with a dab of water on hand, so the cheat way -- just give the band overlap area a lick. if you have water on hand, just use a drop and rub it into the band. but frankly it's just easier and more convenient to lick the thing. 😃

The same cigar band person on yours must of used the same glue on my box of 1916!!! Thats the only thing I dislike about Torano's . . . they use too much glue on the bands, and the glue is strong!!!

If that is the worst thing Torano has goin for em'.....they are doin something right. I just leave the bands on with Torano, and by the time it reaches the bottom band....the cigar and band have warmed up and removal is way easier.

The Torano Sig. Perfecto is one of those cigars that when you have em', they go FAST. They are what I like to call a "candy" cigar. Amazing taste, and I can never just leave them be, in the humi.
