To prove to all that the picture at the Bucanero site (the one posted here recently) is no joke ...

... my second attempt at a picture was successful, although I was too close, and it came out blurry. The length of this ash even beat the one Bucanero has posted at their site. I put it on the top of my truck that was parked on my slightly sloping driveway, and it still stood tall. This is a true testimomial as to how well their cigars are constructed.

I took the picture this morning (the cigar is a Windjammer el Natural Robusto) as I enjoyed it with my morning cup of coffee. This one turned out to be a perfect early cigar, as it is a mild to medium bodied smoke with a smooth, spicy flavor. Very tasty ...

... it was hard to put this one down.

With a V-cut too!

Awesome. I've found certain cigars just beg for the V-cutter. Bucanero is one of them!

Congrats on getting CI to Robert and John.

Last year this time it was Gael and his LaLunas that lit up the board, now it seems to be Bucaneros! Whatever happened to LaLunas?

The trends run hot and wild here at CI boards!

Call tbis a coincidence ... but not too long after I submited this picture, my phone rang ... and it was John from Bucanero.

John called me for no other reason than to simply say hello and to get to know me ... because we hadn't had the occasion to meet (I have only talked and had e-mails with Robert).

He gave me almost an hour of his valuable time, and we had a wonderful conversation. Once again ... these two fine gentlemen have proved beyond a doubt what kind of people they are ... taking that extra personal step and developing a true friendship.

Thanks John, for taking the time out to call me ... I was truly humbled to have the opportunity to finally meet you.

I'm no great cigar connoisseur. I don't taste nutty or mocha or hints of chocolate in my cigars. Maybe because I don't smoke them often enough and my pallet isn't refined. (this is why you will never see a cigar review from me)

But I do know what I personally like and don't. This weekend during the awesome Packer/Viking game I lit up a short little Bucanero (peg leg maybe). I liked it and I smoked it to the nub. Something I don't do very often.

Looked good, smelled good, tasted good, gave me lots of smoke and the draw was very nice and easy. I will definitely buy these (if I can find a place near me that carries them).

A lot of talk about ashes lately ... so I thought I'd bring up this old one, posted quite a while back.

Yeah ... the resolution is bad ... but you all get the picture ... LOL!

In searching for it, I found that there are 724 threads with the word 'Bucanero' in it ... pretty popular cigar in these parts (for the most part) ... 😉

last week I met Kathy and told her she needed to thank us (cbid) for keeping them afloat...

...she also told me that DD blended about 600 blends for them before he left (although he still will do some blends for them in the future), she says they're constantly smoking them, evaluating them and looking at certain ones to focus on.....can you imagine getting to smoke blend after blend from Don Douglas....I want their life...

Man,I have a good half dozen of these resting, and haven't torched one. And every day I read about these things. I'm thinking....VERY soon.
