So my box reads 70 +/- 2% for like three months, then when it suddenly plunges to 65% I recharge humogrificator, but now, 4-6 weeks later, it's down to 60%!! Local weather has that much effect, or what???

Holy $hit -- these things are drier than my ex-wife's... well, you get the idea. NASTY! I need a toothpick, or something...

at last! something more worthwhile than overbidding! Huzzah! Rick, have you been recharging with 50/50% solution? you should only do the initial charge with solution, as the pg levels don't drop, and the amout of pg will increase until it keeps the RH stable at a LOWER rh.

Maybe it's time to join the 21st century--I've just been using distilled water.

Well that's not it then, cuz if anything the RH should be running high! Hmmmmm.

Rick, many varients could be the problem..

how big a humi? any recent adds?? (new cigar shipments)

location of humi/AC turned on in house because of summer heat? AC or Furnace will suck the humidity dry in no time...

sounds like possibly the last question may be the case??

with adding more cigars, newer to the stock.. it's good to toss in a humi stick to help stablize the humidor' 50/50 solution always works better also.. don't ask me why?? I just went from early american to now Climax beads myself.. their enroute.. I've read so many good things about them.. I had to twist my arm off and get some... but adding more cigars without adding additional Help IE: humi sticks in the mix will cost you a bit of RH until everything gets back to stable...

just my .02 cents

Good Luck
