Okay... you're putting together a band. You can have 4-6 people in it and it doesn't matter if they are alive or dead (it IS a fantasy band, after all). Who is in YOUR band?

Mine:

Lead singer: Sebastian Bach (Skid Row)

Lead guitar: Randy Rhoads (Ozzy)

Rhythym Guitar: Eric Clapton (rotate lead with Randy)

Bass Guitar: Steve Harris (Iron Maiden)

Drummer: Neil Peart (Rush)

Alternates: David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Geddy Lee, and John Bonham.

Lead Singer: Varies with song (see list of musicians and take your pick)

Lead Guitar: Jimi Hendrix

Rhythm & Acoustic Guitars: Pete Townsend

Bass (& French horn): John Entwistle

Drums: Neal Peart

Keyboards: Billy Preston

Backing vocals (all backup singers count as one): Janis Joplin, Sheryl Crow & Nancy Wilson (& Guitars)

That is my list of six ;-}

This is kind of cool

Lead vocals - Geoff Tate (Queensryche)

Guitars - Yngwie Malmsteen

Guitars - Alex Skolnec (Testament, Savatage)

Bass - Me...just so I could play with these guys. Otherwise Les Claypool (Primus)

Drums - Nick Menza (Megadeth)

Keyboards - Liberache

That is assuming they could all get along together.

YES

My favorite band

Each guy is a hell of a good musican.

Only change I would make is

Neil Peart(Rush) instead of Alan White

I agree with Billrief:

I prefer their sound when Rick Wakeman is on the keys.

Yup I thought long and hard about who to put for vocals (ok it took all of 20 seconds) but Geoff has such a range and a cool tonal quality.

Hooray for smelly. Another Claypool fan.

I like Steve Harris on Bass because not only can the man jam... he writes most of the songs. Same with Geddy Lee of Rush.

I like your line up Smelly.

I'd love to see it complete with the famous funck brothers as the backup band.

Oh my, there's so many interesting permutations to choose from. Well, here's one interesting possibility:

Guitars: Ritchie Blackmore

Keyboards: Keith Emerson

Bass: Chris Squire

Drums: Cozy Powell or Bill Bruford

Vocals: early Rob Halford (a la Sad Wings of Destiny)
