I've been thinking of setting up a cigar blog to remember how many different gars I've tried. Right now (I'm such a nerd) I have an XL spread sheet with all the info on it. Do any of you folks use an online cigar diary or the like? Just curious.

Happy Memorial Day, Blessings to the Veterans.

Yours,

Sheila.

I have only been smoking for a few months now but I have a spread sheet like you wouldn't believe on every cigar I have smoked. When I get interested in something I get pretty anal about it.

I have never done that, but I think maybe I should have. I can pretty much remember what I smoke and what I like, but it would definitely help.

When I first started smoking I kept a cigar diary, and logged in it every single cigar that I smoked. On my bookshelf now its filled with old reviews...its fun to look over and see what you thought of some cigars a few months, even years after. Email me at thermodynaman2004 at yahoo dot com if you want to see the form that I used...

sheila: i'll be glad to send you a template i've used and passed around to the folks here for a cigar diary. it's in Word format, though. the feedback i've received is that it's been useful, so check it out and see if it's something you can use. 🙂

I had quite a database when I first started smoking cigars. I kinda got away from that as the years went by and my tastes settled. I pretty much know by heart what I like and what I avoid. And I am always trying new ones (that's half the fun!). I probably need (should keep) a spreadsheet more for the wines I try.

I've got my blog set up and about a dozen or so entries put in. I'm using Blogger (www.blogger.com), which is a free weblog service tied to Google. I still have to convert all of my entries from my spreadsheet, so that should take a little while, but if any of you folks want to take a peek, you can find my blog at:

Remember, all reviews are my personal opinion, not carved in stone. 🙂

Sheila

hey, sheila!

didn't get back to this thread until just now -- nice blog you have going! i don't think i got the journal out to you (it's a word doc; you can print it out when you're done or store to disk, write by hand or on computer), and you might not need it now that you have your blog, but i'll shoot a copy to you.

bill, just send one over to you, too.

very interesting to read others' thoughts about cigars that i like/don't like; the IT Fire is one of my faves because i like the pepper in it, but you find it to have petered out on the spice. 🙂 anyway, now that i know you're into spicy (i'm a spice/pepper fan myself), the next package i send will have some of my favorite spicy blends. 😃

good reading! i'll be keeping up with this blog.

I luv dem I T Fires but the Petite corona has the most even flavor. they have a nice pepper and mild sweetness but can catch ya in the tummy if ya smoke too many

I'm not a blogger, nor have I ever been interested in blogs. But this one caught my eye. Well-done, good commentary on the cigars. I'll keep visiting to check out your opinion.

Keep it going long-term. Refer back in a year or two and see if your opinion on any of the smokes changes as your taste changes. I know mine would have several times over the years.

Thanks for the advice, snowwolf. 🙂 I know that my taste has definately changed since I first started smoking cigars, and it will probably continue to change. Who knows? I might have to go back and add a post scriptum to my review for Fighting **** a few years from now.

Yours,

Sheila
