bought a $10 pair of cigar scissors last weekend. i love them damn things. I will keep my v-cutter, but not much need for the old xikar or punch anymore (punch is on a keyring, so I'll keep it)

*just feeling the need to post*

oh and so as to not threadjack (I know how you hate that) - what kind of scissors? I was so proud to get my shiny new xikar, and it works well, but it's just not perfect...I like the idea of scissors...

Did somebody say Makers Mark!!!! Forget the scissors and bring me some ice...to hell with that...neat!!!

P.S. Being born and raised in Kentucky has nothing to do with the above comment...

Can't say I have tried Makers Mark - more of a Beam man.

E, I have SAK scissors - I prefer my Xikar but the scissors work on larger gauges.

I'll be in Dallas (technically the Dallas/Ft Worth airport) on June 13th from 8:01 AM till 11:34 AM on my way to Portland, OR. Probably not enough time for a quick HERF. Can you smoke in the airport? You can in Louisville (designated areas) but they would probably frown upon cigars!!

Now back to the topic at hand...

I've used one of the fancy Davidoff pair of scissors and it works great, but like the cigars, just tooooooo expensive....

rasdas...almost forgot about that one...or was it just brain damage...

Total thread jack but I have to tell you something about Makers Mark. When I was a student @UofL (after flunking out of LSU, gee I wonder why 😉 I worked my way through school working at a laboratory in Louisville. We did testing of the raw barrel samples of Makers Mark. When bourbon is pulled straight from the barrel its proof is all over the place. We would get between 5-10 fifths of MM per week that ranged from about 70 to well over 100 proof. After the legally required storage time (lab thing) we got to take'm home. At one time I probably had about 25 bottles of straight from the barrel MM. But that was a different time and place...going on twenty years ago...

jackin' bastards!!!!

scissors were humidor supreme??? Cheap but work great.

ethan, there's a reason i'm getting snipped later this month!!!! I ain't babysittin for you!!!

re: burboun....maker's is my stock....but really like Woodford Reserve. Not much on Knob Creek....but Wild Turkey will "get the job done"!!!!!!!

and to hell with the ice....just pour the stuff in the damn glass. Don't know how many times I've ordered it "straight" or "neat" and they brought it to me on the rocks. Now, I just tell them to pour it in the glass....and I still get it over ice part of the time.

I gotta open a bar!
