Bud, Yep that is Walnut, Kiln dried to 6% I buy it #1 & #2 grade as to have a more rustic look to the woods...this pic was without the Glass or the poly finish... she is all tucked away and ready to ship now..

YOU ARE THE MAN! I'll post the pic of the finished product! Guys I've done some nice woodwork myself, (just not cabinetry type) and judging from this pic and a few others Hog sent me, this is one NICE case! I've worked walnut gunstocks, and birdseye maple, so I know good wood when I see it. Hog cuts no corners (except according to the plans! LOL)

now picture yourself as a kid growing up in a city like Peoria IL. and hauling that out of the back of a Van about 8:30-9:00 pm twice a week.. I started that job at age 12... finished at 15... it was a highrise apartment building with offices that my Dad had contract to clean all the floors... I'm 40 now.. so how old you think that machine is.. and it's never needed any work done to it that I can ever remember!!!
it's got an easy life now....
