Which El Credito are you talking about? I have smoke dthe El Credito bundles that are supposed to be 2nds to La Gloria Cubana & thought they were just fine. Also a good buy.

I don't know anything about the apprentice 2nds though.

I think they're the same thing...I just got some from CI and have had three so far. The first one completely blew me away it was soo good. I would evensay almost perfect. The last two that I had have had major tar problems (even though I took everyones advice and used a cutter on the last one I smoked instead of a punch) The taste is great and they burn wonderful though. I'm going to let mine sit for awhile and maybe the tar thing will take care of itself

I would say that the main difference is the fact that they are rolled by "apprentice's"; rollers in training if you will. I would doubt that the apprentices are using the good baccy' for practice however.

John -

In the past year I've smoked the better part of two bundles of the El Creditos (5 x 50 maduro) that hat speaks of above. It's a great everyday smoke. The wrappers vary in color and texture a little from cigar to cigar and I had some that had minor cap problems, but if you care more about flavor, volumn of smoke etc.

than you do about cosmetics give these a try.

I second everything above. I tried these about 18 months ago when I purchased a bundle for my Dad. We both were blown away by the flavor. You may find a few in the pack that burn slightly uneven, but all-in-all you should be happy.
