There I am having a brew, playing pinball, and fired up a Camacho(thank you redsquid). There are about maybe 10 people in the tav most of which were smoking cigarettes. when all of a sudden the bartendres comes over the PA and says I have to put it out. I stood for a moment and looked back at her with a frown. My party showed up at the same time. My party left(3 of 4 that smoke cigarettes), except for my brother who finished my game. The bartender just flat out bitched after I left.

Come on just come over in person and ask. All I could hear from the PA was static/cigar/static. Post a sign if they are not allowed.

So we just went across the street to a nice clean cafe/bar and shot pool and drank.

They can refuse to serve, but I can also go to the compitetion and spend my money at a place that is not a dive that smells like piss!

Our all knowing and self rightious city council has put a total ban on ALL smoking in any public building. Starting November 1st I can't even go to my local Cigar Shop and fire one up. Several of us meet there on Wednesday evenings and smoke and tell fishing lies. Now I don't know what we will do, except I plan on spending alot of money on fines, since I will be fighting the system.

Nothing worse than the double-standard of allowing cigarettes until the place is a fog, but not allowing cigars. They never get my money.

For those of you who are eligible, try thr FRA, or the VFW! These organizations tend to be populated by folks who figured that whatever made you eligible makes you free to light up a cigarette, cigar, or pipe as long as you're not in someone elses face with it!

Local county law outlaws all smoking in public buidings but gives restaurants, bars, casinos, etc. a choice. At this time, 80% of restaurants and bars in the area are totally non-smoking, and only a small number of the remaining 20% allow cigars. A group was collecting signatures for an initiative to ban smoking in all types of businesses for health reasons.

Fortunately they failed to get enough signatures, but I do not understand how the government can tell me that I cannot have a business that allows my customers to smoke cigars. The rationalization is secondhand smoke, but if only smokers are present, like in a cigar shop, who is being protected from the smoke?

The smoke Nazis, like the government, feel like they are not only protecting themselves, but they have to protect us from ourselves also. What a crock!

This has been covered before...but it was a while ago...so I'll chime in.

California is the king of anti-smoking ordinances.

I know there's more, but in Los Gatos....you can't even light up in public view...even in your car.

Next it will be illegal in your house and back yard.

Rayder, there's already a municipality in Maryland that has done that!

Yes, I have it lucky here Seattle. I'm willing to bet in the near future that the only places to smoke will be private clubs. Non tribal casinos are taking a bath just south in Pierce county.

What are the reagulations(if any) and where are you sporting from.

I'll stay right here in the Midwest. I have never been asked to put out a cigar in any bar. Hell a lot of the bars have their own small humidor. I get to smoke at my kid's baseball and soccer games also. And we get decent prices here.

Im with ya on that Bassdude. Thank God for the heartland. Say what you will about Oklahoma, but the air is clean, and i can smoke a cigar in just about any place i want. I know of alot of people who have been transfered to Oklahoma from the East Coast states and have said they would never move back East.

I think some law don't allow cigars, being the argument is the size of the cigar and the "Potental" of volumes of smoke (2nd hand smoke). 2nd it's alway some bitch (mostly, Non-male). I've never had a guy complain about my cigars. 3rd they are only telling you that because it so different from the smell of burnt paper that it stands out. 4th in ten minutes they will not smell the cigar anymore as they will adapt. 5th I had more complement on Camacho cigar than any other cigar I'v ever smoked ten to one. 6th roll up some cagar tobacco in a cigarette and technically they can't ask you to put it out because the rules, most rules, state you can't smoke cigars, not cigar tobacco. 7th most women barteders are not customer friendly and should not be bartenders. TBS, some of the best bartenders I'v ever seen are women.
