I'm new to cbid and my question is if three individuals bid on the same product x's three and the bid closes with bids of 1 of 1= $5.00, 1 of 1= $5.00 and 1 of 1= $4.00 does the individual who bid $4.00 receive the product for $4.00 and the other two pay $5.00?

Yeah, Einstein. You get it at whatever the price closes at. Did you expect you had to multiply it by, say 3 or what?

Thanks for your reply however there are three things I would like to bring to your attention, #1 what I wanted to know, was the $4.00 bidder going to receive the product as well as the two $5.00 bidders which was answered by xrundog, #2 I wonder if the $4.00 bidder landed in that position by luck or skill and I plan to make a game of it in future bids to find out,#3 my grandfather was the man who came up with E=mc squared however he stopped to smoke a ROMEO y JULIETA Belicoso and Einstein beat him to the patent office.

JonR: it is sort of luck and timing.if you bid 3 of 3 at $4.00 and only 2 bidders bid 1 of 1 at $5.00, the 3 of 3 becomes 1 of 3 at $4.00. more important is have once a week shipping. why you ask?. check the shipping charges on the second and/or subsequent bids.

Thanks Rick I'll give it a try. In two days I already saved over a hundred dollars that I would have paid retail and yes I use once a week shipping. Thanks for your imput.

I think this is a legitimate question for somebody new to cbid and familiar with "dutch" auctions at other auction sites. In a "dutch" auction, everybody who wins pays the lowest winning bid. When I first started using this site, I assumed that was how these auctions were conducted.

Most likely the $4 bidder was the first bidder or at least the earliest of the bidders.Bid early for a chance at being the lowest winning bidder.

As we tell our children, there is no such thing as a bad question. How will we know the answers with a question! I feel so much better about myself now! John

Thanks to all of you for your replys. My belief is there is only one stupid question and that is the one you don't ask.

I would tend to disagree with you JonR. I've been asked plenty of stupid questions in my day. (i.e. I dropped off some reports for someone and told the secretary "I'm dropping these reports off for Kim" The secretary then asked me, "And who should I give them to?" However, I don't think your was stupid.
