Don't you guys do your research before you run a bid up. I just lost 2 bids that were really reasonable, and the winning bid went about 15 dollars higher than you can get it at Cigars International?

My system is to check the CI prices and add $10.

That's my starting bid.

For my autobid I use 3 times retail.

I don't always win this way, thanks to OVERBIDDING FOOLS, but having a good system means I don't have to keep checking my bid status all the time.

Don't blame me, I'm a newb but I was warned/threatened (LOL)early on not to overbid. I always check CI and compare, usually I don't get near the retail price. It all seems like common sense anyway, look around and check current prices, Duh.

lmao at Smelly. Great post guy.

Keep bidding at your predetermined discount and I'm sure you'll eventually win a bid. You're not going to win often, but you will win some. Not all those you perseive as "overbidders" do their research, and are just trying to beat there local retailer prices (especially those in high retail tobacco tax state).

When I win the Powerball Lottery (and I will...it is only a matter of time), I'm going to overbid on EVERY lot for one week. No one will win ANY lot for one week. I will then sit back and watch the reactions of people flipping out on the boards.

Then, to get back on everyone's good side, I'll hold the biggest herf ever known to man. All the cigars I overbid on will be given away at the herf. It will be somewhere in the middle of the US so that everyone has equal traveling distance.

Maybe I'm doing this the wrong way, because I set my autobid at $12 higher than CI. Then I hope that I get them for much less. I do seem to have an awfull lot of cigars.
