I was in the LCdH in Hong Kong yesterday watching a Cuban Tercedor roll PSD #4's right in front of my eyes. It was very cool. He was explaining the whole process. He works at the Partagas factory and was telling us his training was 9 months long and then many more years perfecting it.
I had the new Montecristo Edmundo and it was absolutely one of the best cigars I have had in my life!
I also got to look at the famous Min Ron Nee cigar encyclopedia. Wow! The Chinese store manager told me that Mr. Nee is no longer allowing the printing of the book. THAT is why it costs about $85 dollars, if you can find it. None of the bookstores here is allowed to sell it now. Damn!
I also stopped by another place... didn't get to meet Ravi, but I did meet his brother Dashae (sp?). EXCELLENT customer service. He even gave me a 10 1/2 inch cigar he got from a factory meeting in Cuba. The tercedor at the LCdH told me it was either a salomone or a diadema, either of which is only rolled by the most experienced tercedors, since it is so difficult to make, and it cannot be bought in stores. This was a cigar experience to remember... wow!
