Thanks bassdude. I've really learned a lot from you guys in the short time I've been here. Though I've smoked 'gars off and on for quite a few years, I didn't know about a lot of the nuances. I really like the coolerador and tupperador ideas. I'm working to but together my first one before cbid ships the 100+ 'gars I already have won this past week! My marrage may be in hot water due to my getting carried away with this site!! LMAO!!

Oh well, what can you say. I really enjoy thick ring, medium body, maduros...... yummmmm.

Good to talk to you.

Neal

"My marrage may be in hot water due to my getting carried away with this site!!"

If I might make a suggestion? Show your wife the difference in what you paid and the retail prices. Explain how you're actually SAVING money here. Yea, that's it, that'll work...

LMAO cj... My wife is a Rubber Stamper (creates cards etc. using rubber stamps), & she has so many that it fills an entire entry closet and a 5 shelf book case, so I may be able to get away with my indlugance (I hope... LOL)

nealep,

I sometimes find myself hoping I'll lose a bid because something else interesting has come to my attention, but I've already bid out my budget. Gotta Have a budget if your just a regular stiff like me. If you lose one, don't worry. It will pop up again & chances are, you'll be able to get it for less.

Budget?? What budget, I'm spending rent money, doesn't everyone???? LMAO But really, your correct. I've seen some really great deals here & can't wait to dig into my first shipment. I know that you should let them rest in the coolidor for a month or more, but who the h**l can wait that long!!!!

Hey nealep,

Welcome to the madness. Don't worry, you will have humis and coolers overflowing in no time. Then you will have the patience to let them sit for awhile. I used to get an order in, and smoke one right away, but now they go box and all, into my longterm storage. I rotate out the ones that have been there the longest, and put them into my ready to smoke cooler. From there, they go to my desktop, when I have room for them. My supply is dwindling, as I am buying super premiums and ISOMs, some the quantity is being replaced with quality. Oh I still am smoking my daily smokes, at the same pace, about 3 a day, but I am buying less cigars. I have my own set price, for my daily smokes and don't worry if I get beat out. It's not like I am low on cigars. LOL Though I am down from a high of 1500, to my current count, under 800. But instead of paying $2-3 a stick, for Perdomos, IT, and CAO, I am spending $6-$15, for PAMs, RASS, BBF, PSD#4, a few ELs, and Vegas Robinia, my current fav.

Welcome to the zoo.

Thanks for the warm welcome Dave (Homebrew)! You guys are great! Yes, right now I'm just stocking up on daily's in 5 packs & sampling quite a few varities/makes, but maduros are my favorites, 5 - 6 1/2 inch X 48 - 54 ring. I also really like those rum flavored buties!! I'm working on my first cooliador so I'll be prepared when my first shipment arrives next week (100 + gars). :o)

Hey nealep,

Just a little advice, on storage. Make sure that you store your flavored cigars in a different coolerdor, or humi, from the regular cigars. The result of the mixing can ruin your nonflavored smokes.

Have a great day.

Hat, that is so true. I've found after watching and biddig on this cite that it pays to be vigilent. I've set limits on the cigars I'm really interested in and just wait till they come up at a price that I like. If it goes I higher I let it go and wait till next time. Dave also is offering good advice too. I've almost filled up my 2 humidor's here and have not started looking for a cooledor. I always wait atleast 2 weeks to smoke a cigar so it can rest in my humidor first. In fact some have been in mine since February when I got my first humidor not from here since I didn't know about Cbid then. Though just wondering about the cooledor do you guys line them first with spanish cedar? If so when do you find it? I tried home depot yesterday but they didn't have any small enough that would fit in a cooledor.

ehdg,

You do not have to line the cooler with Spanish cedar. The wood, will help maintain a more steady humidity, without the fluctuations, of a cooler alone. It really only matters, at least to me, in my single sticks cooler. I won several Boxes of Blocks, and line the floor of my single sticks cooler, with them. I also use them as dividers. If it is just for box storage, it is not important.

Have a great Day.

Dave,

Thanks for the advice about the flavored cigars. I didn't think about that. I saw a thread about making some brandy flavored cigars using marbles at the bottom of a tup container, placing the 'gars over the marbles with the brandy on the bottom below the marble level. Sounded like a great idea that I may try.

Thanks again guys for all the advice and wisdom.
