You can edit any bid ... but you only have 15 minutes to make that choice.

Not may auctions sites will let you do that ...

--- Editing Bids ---

A bid can be modified within 15 minutes of your original bid.

This grace period does not apply during the last hour of an auction.

Bid modifications can be made to current bid, quantity, and auto-bid.

Bids cannot be deleted. See Order Cancellation Policy below for further details.

Hey Slim. I read all of that and tried to increase my quantity from 1 to 2. I kept getting a screen that said bad bid, and said I already had a winning bid. I tried several times in the 15 minute window to edit my bid. What was I missing?? Thanks.

Email customer sevice ... I haven't experienced that one yet.

It would be interesting to find out that if you have a winning bid, it can't be edited, or that it was just a 'glitch' in their system.

Well, let's do the 'CS' thing, and find out what's going on ...

... who would like to have the honors (since it's never happened to me) to find out?

I have a feeling that you can edit a bid to lower your bid or quantity ... but are not able to increase your bid or quantity.

In the beginning, they use to let you cancel your bid in the first 15 minutes, but it was found out tbat there were folks here who would bid up lots that they wanted, just to see how high their compititions autobid was set, and if it was too high, they would cancel their bid ... so that the original bidder was stuck paying this highest bid ...

... it takes all kinds, I guess.

I gave up trying to use the "edit bid" feature long ago. I don't know if it's that complicated or it's just hard to teach a FOG new tricks. Now if I screw up I just sort of eat it........Not cbids fault, mine...............

Slim I too tried to edit a winning bid. I was trying to increase my max price and it wouldn't let me. In fact when I first etnered my bid it would only let me set the max to a number that was lower then I was willing to go. For some reason it wouldn't let me set my limit above $120.00 and I knew the box was worth much more then that or atleast would go much higher which it has. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't set my limit higher then $120 though. Any ideas? Anyone?

Hey guys. I did send a CS request today. Haven't heard anything yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I hear something. I'm like the rest of you, it was my fault, I just wish I hadn't pulled the trigger so fast or I could have had 2 of 'em instead of one. I shall learn! LOL

Grinches and Everyone -

To edit a bid you must enter your username and password, click the 'Edit a Bid' button and press ENTER...not Submit Bid.

By the way, even Customer Service Reps for CigarBid get a day or two off...Monday through Friday you'll get a response a lot quicker than on a Sunday afternoon! 🙂

Thanks Trish. Now I think I understand where my problem was. I hit edit a bid first, then entered my user name and password, then tried to submit.
