I need help from a Gurkha fan. How can you tell the difference from the double x and the master select perfecto #1 they look the same to me. I've got a few of these in trades and I dont know if they are all double x or perfecto #1's. I know I have at least one double x. And now there all mixed up and I can't tell the difference...so are they all double x's?

Help

You'd think that with the dough they get for these, they could spring for a little variety in the banding, or adding a second band. There is a good picture comparing the two (wrapper color seems to differ slightly) in the latest CI catalog, but unless you have at least one firmly identified, it doesn't do much good.

Hey John, you got some of those x's right? Pass them around, then we can all have a 'control' specimen. 🙂

I know I have at least one...but which one is it? I received a couple of perfectos in trades and they look exactly the same so maybe there all XX's.Gurkha should not offer the exact same size perfecto in the master blends.

Look at the shading of the Gurkha dude the perfecto has a darker shade and his knife is dark, the band is also redder the on the centurian.

Is it different in person, or just the picture. I've got a Legend, and the band is the same design as the Regent, but in silver tones instead of gold (very distinct).

I put a Centurian up to the catalog picture and both the bands looked the same. Sorry don't have a Master Select to compare it to.

OK....I got it figured out. The only way you can tell short of smoking them is the position of the band around the cigar. The band is higher on the double X. By the way the shading on the bands in the catalog making the double X lighter is just the lighting when they took the picture, The bands are the same. Now I know I have two of each.

Are these things worth the price? I have never been impressed with the few that I have smoked?
